Rock Band
been having a lot of fun with this game so far, I don't own it but it's a great way to socialize anyways.
Just mention it and if someone has it "bam" you get an invite to a rock band shindig Least that's how it's working for me. Had too many people at the last one with 5 of us there so we assigned the 5th member as "band manager" his job was to pummel whoever was screwing up their notes, so if you failed or were failing, you would get beat up on. then lose your spot to the "manager" the person who was pummelled would then become the manager. It was hilarious at some points cuz have you ever seen someone get sacked when they are in the middle of a guitar solo? lol or all of a sudden the bad singing becomes "OW, CRAP!" buhahaha. |

i like playing the game mainly for the drum sections.
after playing guitar hero and guitar freaks, the guitar/bass sections for rock band seem rather easy. the singing can be fun when you're feeling silly. or if you actually like/know how to sing

The drums are insanely addicting. And, I agree siege, the guitar/bass is very easy compared to the Guitar Hero games. I can expert 100% of the songs on the guitar and bass parts on Rock Band, but I only get maybe 85% of the songs on Guitar Hero 3.

It's a ton of fun, I love it. I'm still working my way through the game on Hard, having never played Guitar Hero/etc. before, but it's worth it and it's awesome at parties.
I recently got the Omega Pedal to replace the stock pedal for the drum kit. You don't need to go and buy the Omega Pedal, if you're ambitious you can get a kick pedal from a local music shop and mod it yourself, but it's a huge improvement over the plastic one that the game comes with and it makes playing the drums on the harder difficulty sections much easier.

I just played this for the first time the other day.
I love it! I think I just really like the interaction involved. I hate waiting for my turn on Guitar Hero.

I just bought it this weekend. I agree that the drums are ridiculously addicting. I too was a bit bored with guitar and bass after playing GH/2/3 but I love the drums.
I'm also a TERRIBLE singer, but I get amusement and fun out of the vocals. My girlfriend is a fantastic singer, and was able to do all the songs we played on Medium without even trying. She even did Beastie Boys' Sabotage, which is strange to hear with a female voice. I'm at work now, but I desperately want to go home so I can play it more.

TotalMILF and I are playing a career, her on guitar, me on bass. We both like it (I think) more than GH2/3. Better variety of songs, more interesting stuff. Good game!

My foot gets all fucked up, that's my biggest problem. I can do the 4 pads no problem, but the whole "its triggered when you step DOWN on it, not when you lift your foot up" thing really screws up my timing. My brain can't handle keeping the beat with my hands but lifting my foot up BEFORE the beat happens.
It's tough.. I can only do it on Medium right now..
