What's your favorite game?
What's your favorite video game/game series of all time? Console, PC, whatever.
I have two favorites: the Thief and Civ. The civ series has endless replayability and, in its latest incarnation, a good balance of strategic choices to make. Plus, it's fun to watch your civ evolve from a band of settlers to a huge empire. Thief has the excitement of slinking through the shadows while enemies walk by completely unaware, and the fun of sneaking up behind someone and knocking them out  And then there's the Shalesbridge Crade level in Deadly Shadows  Not one to play before bedtime! |
Take No Prisoners for PC (top down shooter w/ hokey gunplay)
Metal Gear Solid for PS1 (a masterpiece for the ages) Contra 3 for SNES (2D bliss) Nightmare on Elmstreet for NES (multiplayer fun) Splatterhouse for TG16 (ghouls + 2x4 = righteous fun) |
I think I can stop myself at 5:
Xenogears PS1 Ikaruga (DC/GC) Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2) Xenosaga Series (PS2) Fire Emblem Series (GBA/GC/Wii) |
Fire Emblem is good.
I love all the games I play. Guild Wars. CounterStrike Team Fortress 2. All HL. Loads of others. The all time best ever is the N64... GOLDENEYE! |
All time?
Star Control II XCom Alpha Centauri GTA: VC FFVII |
My favorite game is Company of Heroes.
Other greats include: -Goldeneye -the Civ series -Starcraft -Deus Ex -F-Zero X -Rise of Nations -Diablo 1 & 2 -Hellgate: London |
I'll have to go with the ones i played the most and had most fun playing.
on PC: Elastomania for insane replayability. UT for overall enjoyment. and starcraft for best multiplayer enjoyment. on ps2: the Harmonix serie like(guitar hero serie(2 and 3) and Amplitude). and also games like katamari damacy or Shadow Of the Collossus. on GB: tetris. card games: heart or Golf. board games: risk or dicewars and sometimes Monopoly. bigger games: pool 9ball and air hockey are always fun. |
IL2 sturmovik
XCom Starcontrol II Halflife Civ II MULE Archon Stars! |
D&D
|
MPOWER - I forgot about MULE -great game on the C64
CIV 2 XCOM Neverwinter Nights - just so many mods it is great. Elite The original Bards Tale Tac Ops - pc online shooter game (better than counter strike) |
The games that have given me the most enjoyment have been
PC: Farcry, Warcraft 3, Call of Duty 2, Half-Life 2 (and recently, Orange Box) Console: Vanda Hearts on PS1, NHL 2k series, Fight Night series |
There is a few.
Number one is Civ 3. Others are the rest of the Civ series, Sid Meier's Pirates, Old D&D game in the style of the original Pool of Radiance and the Gran Turismo series. |
I go through a lot of games trying to find something to do. However, there is one game that I will always hold dear to my heart: Super Smash Bros. Melee. I just love the competition...
|
--Deus Ex: Best overall game. Superb, engaging story. Love the fps/rpg hybrid.
--Tribes 2: Once the bugs were worked out and T2: Classic was available. Hands down most intense multi-player squad game ever. |
Half-Life 2 is the one I like most
|
Yall notice that most of the games listed are old? From back in the day when you had to cover up not-so-great graphics with great gameplay. It must have taken me 2 months to solve ultima III. You dont see many games like that anymore...
|
Super Smash Brothers for N64
Starcraft These are the two games I never get tired of playing. They're great for trash talking to your friends too. |
Bioshock
Half Life 2 & Episodes FEAR Soldier of Fortune 2 - Double Helix Half Life 1 Far Cry |
Probably GH2 or Goldeneye
Though Super Smash Bros. Melee deserves a mention |
X-COM is easily my favorite game of all time. It's a shame it hasn't had a decent sequel, spiritual or otherwise, since Terror from the Deep. I just have to wait for UFO:AI to finish up I guess.
My favorite games that I'm currently playing would be TF2, Halo 3 and Red Orchestra. Company of Heroes has lost my love since Opposing Fronts came out. |
chess, car wars for non video games.
robotron was the greatest arcade video game ever. the first grand theft auto (with the overhead view), doom (all of them) and duke nukem for the pc, twisted metal black, metal gear solid, tekken for the ps2 |
BF1942, I always wanted to fly Zero's, drive panzers and put C4 on a willy's jeep.
Medal of honor wasn't that bad either, running around with a K-98. I do think that NINJA warriors (arcade game) was my fav. NES? man you guys got the memory lane going. Who didnt burn hours on Zelda? |
I am not a console guy, so here are my favorite PC games/series of all time:
1) Starsiege: Tribes 2) Half-Life (series) 3) DOOM (series) 4) Battlefield 1942/Battlefield Vietnam/Battlefield 2 (haven't played 2142) 5) FEAR |
1) Age of Mythology and the ensuing expansion.
2) World of Warcraft 3) Mario Kart Double Dash 4) Wii Sports 5) SimCity 4 Just off the top of my head. |
Katamari Damacy.
The way I see it, the only game worth playing other than Sim City and the like. rollin', rollin', rollin' |
Current faves (like, at this moment):
Halo 3 Mass Effect Call of Duty 4 Lumines Live! |
