Brute Force
Has anyone else played this game? I rented it and I think it is pretty cool. The ability to play a co-op mission with more than 2 people is pretty awesome. I hope that Halo 2 will include this feature. The controls are decent and you can control the rest of the squad of four players if you play alone.

I bought this game and I love it, the story isn't the greatest in the world but few games have world class stories to begin with. Even RPGs have cookie cutter stories. Anyway, the controls fit really well IMO, being able to set up a sniper and have your squad set up to ambush people as you slowly move up is awesome. I had few times I didn't even see an enemy approach me and Flint picked 'em off from her sniper post I set up. And blasting away with Tex in a war zone brings a real rush sometimes. Over all I'm glad I bought this game, now I just have to try the mult. player over GSA/XBox connect...

I think it's a fun game, with lots of great action. The graphics are nice, the enviroments unique (although repeated in the game) and there are lot's of cool weapons.
There are some negative points however. The levels are very linear in design, and the storyline is disjointed to say the least. Playing Co-op is most fun IMO, and I don't know that I would have been able to finish the game without help from a friend. |

I think it is a really fun game. We had 4 people over and it was cool to be able to play co-op. However, I thought the multiplayer sucked. I was especially disappointed by the squad combat missions. I think it is a really cool idea but that it wasnt pulled off very well.

I never knew it was billed as a Halo killer...
And then there is this: Brute Force sets Xbox sales records (LINK) Quote:

I think it sold so well simply because the Halo crowd was looking for something to bide their time.
I mean, the controls are basically the same. It was billed, at least in the gaming articles I read, to be the next best thing to Halo, so it's no surprise that all the Master Chief geeks got their claws into this one early.

the co-op mode works pretty well. rented this game recently, so... thoughts: I like the different abilities, particularly that of Brutus - comes in handy during foggy missions, and long range shots. the graphics are very nice, though the storyline leaves something to be desired... overall, 8/10. worth buying, as something between Halo and Halo 2, and definitely worth a rental, but stay away from the multiplayer. also, I don't like how you can still be shot/killed, even when the game is paused...

I don't think it could possibly be a Halo-Killer. I mean look at the people in the game, it's a Tribes and Starcraft rubbed together.
