Do you guys play with the motion blur and grain filters on? Perhaps that's adding to why you're getting lower frames more often than others?

I've gotten noticeable FPS drops also, but it's not a huge deal.
On my second playthrough as a Soldier, and will be a Paragon.

I'm about done with my second playthrough as a soldier as well except I went renegade. As soon as I hit 75% though, I started doing paragon type stuff, I want to see how high you can get both meters on one character.

I did recieve a new 360 a few months back because of the red lights debacle. They sent me one with the HDMI out, which my original did not have, but I don't know anything about any other updates. Hooray for me if there is!!!

There are a lot of issues with this game that stop it from being perfect, but none that stop it from being absolutely amazing. Most of the reactions to things like frame rate drops and poor inventory management are understandable, but, really...it's not so bad.
- Inventory: as soon as you realise you don't need most of the upgrades (simply because the ones you have equipped aren't listed) you can sell then/omni gelise them which makes keeping track a lot easier -frame-rate: Doesn't spoil things... -Everything else: Trust me, i'm not easily pleased, but unless you have no soul and you like bioware games/rpgs you will be entranced by this wonderful, wonderful progressive RPG. By the way, has anyone completed it yet...i wanna talk about stuff...!

Feel free to talk about the game, but you might want to use the spoilers tags for those who haven't finished yet. Personally, I'm in the same boat as Lokas, I've beat the game several times.

I love this game. Or I should say I love the story and the characters and the whole damn Universe. This the only reason I'm still playing it because frankly the game play sucks. It's boring, it's repetative and just not fun. Even the items are meh and so are the skill sets.
But it doesn't matter. This is THE best story I have ever encountered in a game hands down. So I'll play it...over and over again. --jaded

If you do every sidequest in both games, Mass Effect is longer. Just busting through it Mass Effect is probably still longer and provides a better experience in my opinion. Assassin's Creed just has no replayability while Mass Effect is at least slightly different with a different class and alignment.

I'm about 30 or 35 hours in, really focusing on the sidequests, but the game is so repetitive. Land Mako, drive around, salvage a probe (press 5 buttons in sequence), survey a mineral (press 5 buttons in sequence), find mine/base surrounded by/filled with Geth/Creepers/Husks/mercs, kill them all, open a couple storage lockers/crates/malfunctioning objects/upgrade kits for perhaps one marginally better item and a bunch of redundant upgrades. Go back to Normandy, sell gear to Quarter Master, outfit team in clunkiest manner possible, go to next world. I mean, the game is fun enough, but it's so very, very shallow. Like JadedFox said, meh.

It's disappointing that the overwhelming bulk of the planets are barren mountain ranges, with a building or two you can enter and a handful of items to salvage/survey. I think they would have been better served by having fewer planets with more stuff on them. Plus, some of the planets have pretty steep terrain and can be frustrating to navigate. Also, the guns on the Mako can aim where they can't actually shoot.
I only found out after my first play-through that the Mako has a super-zoom. Pull left trigger for the normal zoom, then click the right stick. That really would have helped out on a lot of those missions where the enemy shoots at you from so far away that they're barely on your compass, let alone targetable. On the other hand, the big Geth are pretty easy to deal with. You can knock them over with the Mako quite easily. On the whole, I like how they've pretty much eliminated "take this item to this guy" and "go kill this other person," and there's no more of the ridiculously evil dialog options that there were in the KOTOR games, where being Dark Side basically meant being a homicidal asshole. What I don't get is how the inventory system could be so much worse than the KOTOR games. Navigation is clunky and tedious. Try turning some inferior ammo into omni-gel and you'll see what I mean. That action pops you back up to the top of the equipment list. And there's no "back to previous menu" option when adjusting your weapon mods. The game has a pile of little annoyances that prevent it from being a fully escapist experience. You may notice that when you survey a solar system, you sometimes get rewards, and you sometimes don't. The only way to make sure you get them is to exit the galaxy map altogether. Also, there are no equipment templates. Sometimes you'll be dealing with Geth, humanoids, and poison-spitting creatures all in the same location, and you'll have to go into the menu screens and manually change out mods for each fight. There are some other things, but I can't mention them without spoiling the story.

I'm about 25 hours in and so far I'm not very impressed. It's nowhere near the KOTOR level. The character development is decent but nothing like KOTOR. The side missions are downright boring. I'd probably give it an 8.0 or 8.5 at this point because it does a lot right. It's the little things that drop it down, and it has a TON of little things wrong with it.

It scares me a little that people consider this game "a big step in storytelling." Yeah, There's a massive universe to learn about but the game has little to no direction it's so easy to get lost in the side quests. I'm not talking about the "lost in sidequests" where you'd rather spend time doing them than finishing the game, I'm talking about the kind of "getting lost in sidequests" where you're screaming "where's the damn quest to get me off this god forsaken planet!" It's not a big step in story telling, It's a step forward in virtual world creation. I'll give it that even though it's nothing compared to MMO worlds like World of Warcraft. The world pretty much has an answer for every thing except why it takes longer for the elevator to reach the bottom floor of the ship than it does for the ship to get to the other side of the galaxy... Having multiple responses to questions really wasn't all that revolutionary either, Having it all voice acted was definitely an achievement but nothing spectacular, in my opinion.
I tried to like the game, Hell, I really wanted to and I didn't want to admit I didn't like it for a few days because It was getting all these good reviews. It was just boring and riddled with mundane tasks which provided no character development. The UI was clunky and hard to use, Combat isn't bad for an RPG but I really couldn't get far enough into the game to experience it much. I upgraded my weapons and armor multiple times between fights, I spend more time equipping guns than I did shooting them. The game looks good, but any HD game with a decent budget looks good nowadays. I only experienced a few FPS problems in game but I did have massive lag with some of my armors loading. It'd load the basic armor model and It'd be 10-15 seconds before the normal mapping textures kicked in and gave a nice detailed look.

I beat it. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. The last few hours were amazing. The story was definitely not revolutionary like everyone is saying. The game did a lot of things right but it did even more things wrong. I agree with cybermike -- the game would have benefitted from being much more linear instead of it being riddled with boring as fuck sidequests.

Ya that will get better in time, but besides that I never found any other problems. Besides the disc dropping but thats just XBOX for ya.
I can;t seem to get the majority game completed achievement, I did almost all the side missions (forgot maybe 3) and didn't it, I also had Ashley and Leira with me every mission, I know some games bug and don't give you the achievements when you get them, just wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

I've sorta had that problem. My first play through I used Ashley and Liara as well, I got the achievement for using Ash but not for Liara.
I've read on other boards if you want that achievement with Liara, you pretty much have to do only the storyline quests till you can get her into your party. That means no extra citadel quests before you're free to roam the galaxy. As a sidenote, I still haven't gotten the achievement for using our favorite Asari yet.

I actually got the Completionist achievement my first playthrough lol. Haven't played it in awhile but on my newest run through I'm playing as the default John Shepard avatar as a full Renegade Adept. Playing through with Ashley and Garrus exclusively.

Funny my first chick was a Renegade adept, the two seem to go hand in hand
the guy I got not is just the nice guy assault master. Adept is the one I like the most, like tossing people and things around is awesome.

Star Wars always adds points
But beating the game is easy, the main story is short, I don't think that's really the point of it, it's finding everything. The BIGGEST complaint is it's not for PC(currently), KOTOR was infinitely better on the PC because of the much smaller load times and control. And you really think the removal of outrageous(trust me theres still some in there including punching mental patients in the face) is good ? Some of the conversation options do require high intimidate or renegade points. I can't do that stuff in real life so I want it in a game, I want to be a virtual homicidal asshole. |

ok...I'm done with this game. Can't get past that big battle with that tall blue chick..Benezir or whatever her name is...
Got past the first half of the battle with great difficulty, now I either get swamped by the multitude of enemies that assist her or she flattens me in 2 shots. Waaaay too annoying for something that is supposed to be a recreation. Worst part is I'll probably get crap for a trade in. |

The game isn't level-scaled so if you go to another planet and level up you could come back and slaughter her.
I heard reviewers talking about how hard the Benezia fight is but I raped her on the third try. It was borderline laughable how bad I killed her. My main guy could kill the other guys that spawn with her in a half second burst of assault rifle fire. |

The first time I won, I had to rush over to the right side of the battlefield. From there you can find cover that hides you from her attacks, her minions will still rush you though. You should be able to survive them even with them coming from two directions. After the flood eventually stops it's an easy 3 on 1.
Cheap but it works. Then you can reload a save later and do the fight over if you felt like you copped out. Quote:
I'm pretty sure the game is level scaled if you play on the harder settings, hardcore & insane. I think the game says regular enemies, sub bosses & bosses scale with bosses also having some immunities.

Maybe the game doesn't have level scaling. That's really weird then. I had no trouble with her. Did you guys use the fighter type main character? My guy was the soldier gun man and his assault rifle would just slaughter every enemy in the game all the way till the end boss. By the end my main character was killing the final enemies in one quick split second burst. Maybe it's different if you choose one of the magicky type main characters?
