Is there anyone else that HAS NOT played the Halo 3?
 

As the title implies, I'm quite curious as to if there is in fact anyone else out there that has not played Halo3. I have not, the brother and I have made a tradition of playing through the previous Halos coop the first time through, so I've got my pre-ordered copy sitting right by my 360, still in it's wrapping, waiting for Friday (the first weekend that he and I both have been around our 360s at the same time).....

I played Halo 2 once. My friend kept stabbing me with an energy sword.

So we played something else.

I haven't played it and probably never will. The first one was boring but polished, the second one was too similar to the first one and I don't doubt that the third will be similar to both.

Fuck console video games.

I'd have more fun throwing $500 at computer upgrades.

That's what I've heard. Some people that live down the hall from me play it a lot and I've seen the graphics. The game is visually stunning. However, I've been told it's just a recolored version of Halo 2, which means that it's Halo 1.75... =)

I hate the xbox controller for fps...

that and halo 3 didn't look impressive at all when i watched people play it.

I haven't. I dislike FPS (Except for Goldeneye), therefore I'll probably never play Halo 3.

No Halo 3 for me, mostly by choice (and because I don't own a 360). I was late trying the first Halo and was unimpressed. It felt like I was doing the same thing on a console that I had been doing for years on a PC with frustrating controls. In truth I was a bit turned off of it by the massive hype.

It's popular for more than just the hype, I'll point out ;) There is a solid game beneath it all that's just great fun. That point is easily lost amongst the marketing dribble.

I haven't played Halo 3, or 2, or 1. I don't play action games, and I don't have any console. In fact, the only games I play are card/puzzle type games on my Palm T|X.

I'm glad you and others get enjoyment out of these games, however. I'm not saying this from a high-and-mighty position or anything.

like most PC gamer, playing a FPS on a console is fucking death to my brain. without the pure controls of a keyboard mouse, there's no fucking way i'll ever own a console for that type of gaming.

and on pc? well it came out too late so the hype was totally dead. bring out halo 3 RIGHT NOW on pc and you'll get so many fucking more people buying it!!

I haven't played it and probably never will. Starting as a computer FPS (keyboard and mouse) gamer I found the controls way to hard to use. I would get so pissed playing with my friends on halo 1 while they were owning me. When I knew if I just had a mouse I'd be unstoppable against them. :eek:

I've not played it. I might play it tomorrow at my friend's place, but I'm not going to buy it myself.

I'm great at keyboard and mouse, and I'm just as good with console controls if I turn the sensitivity to max.

solid is pushing it. Halo to me is just another bland FPS for a console. It is not the "SUPER AMAZING REVOLUTIONARY MEGA GAME TO THE EXTREME!" that all the fanboys ((read: fratboys) sorry for the mass generalization) make it out to be. If you want a great FPS play Gears of War or many of the other computer titles out there.

Halo was awesome before Microsoft took over Bungee. Then it was dumbed down to be what Microsoft needed to draw the everyday player to their console.

Not to be pedantic, but GoW is a third person shooter.

AND one of my favorite games of all time.

I have not. I've played Doom 2 though. Shortly after that the company upgraded (?) the operating systems on our PC's from OS2 Warp to some crazy Windows based thing, and that was the end of the gaming.

This is the sort of comment that I can't imagine ISN'T sarcastic. If you're aware of the previous Halos, you know they were incredibly popular and made a ton of money. And how can people not be drowned in the deluge of Halo3 marketing?

So I played it last night. It sure is pretty on my friend's big HDTV. And that's about it. But it's for others and not for me, and I say good hunting, all Halo fans.

Only like 11 million people worldwide even have a 360. Maybe 3 million people have played it on the high end.

Unfortunately, completely unsarcastic. Never played Halo 1 or 2, and just found out about Halo 3 as of this thread. I also don't visit any gaming websites, read gaming periodicals, or pass by any game stores on a regular basis!

If I only had a 360, and an hdtv. Within a year. I will get it when I can afford it. I still enjoy playing 1 and 2. and for those complaining about the controls, well, that is how the game is played.

Probably won't play Halo 3 any time soon...don't have a 360, don't want one. I've got a gaming laptop and a Wii. If I had the money to blow, I'd spend it rebuilding my desktop.

so cross platform games you don't play? PC only?

Oh I'll play console games, ones such as "Darkness" "Psychonauts" "Kotor"
etc etc

Boring FPS games that add very little to what PC games have done for years is what bores me.

So why are you playing Darkness? That game is terrible with sloppy controls. I thought the little monsters would add something else to the gameplay, but all they are are weapons that you can detatch from yourself and control. The Halo games all have much more refined controls and a better story.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Bungie separated after the release of Halo 3...I may be mistaken.

Like most people here, I started off on PC FPS's (and I consider myself pretty good at them). Halo is the only console FPS that I can play though. I guess it's different from person to person, but I found that the controls from PC FPS to Halo transferred over very easily.

As for story, Halo 3 has a pretty solid story, but I still like Halo 1 better (same goes for the multiplayer).

I never played 1, a buddy of mine bought 2 when it came out we went on a binge and beat the co-op in one day.

I don't own a 360, just a PS3 so I won't be playing 3 anytime soon.

I have an Xbox 360 & have played Halo 1 & 2. And I have no plans on playing it.

I found the second release to be boring & largely have grown tired of first person shooters.
