EB Games/Gamestop suck suck my ass when it comes to used games. I've bought about 5 from them in the past and every single one had at least two scratches. I prefer to buy used games from "real people".

I don't wanna sell any of my own games but a game you might like is Shadow of the Collossus. It's fairly old, so you might be able to find a cheap copy.
Also, XIII is pretty good (a cell shaded FPS based on the comic book of the same name), it has goldeneye style multiplayer...lots of fun. And a brawler that I like is the Warriors. Lot's of single player fun, but also a great game to play with a friend (you can do the whole story in Co-op). Burnout 3 takedown is a fun racing game, IMO the best of the series. You should be able to find most of these in the 10-20 dollar range.

New here on the site, but not to the forums.
Anyways, The prices at EB Games/Game Stop are not so bad as many think, usually new games (some new releases or ones released a year ago) are about ranged either $40 or $30 at the most, $50 as usual. Their used games ranged at about max at around from what I've seen is $18 - $2.99 and $.49 (Overload on Madden/NHL games and the Underground Jampack demodiscs). What is bullshit though, that they have a used copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for $69.99! no joke. I would feel bad for anybody who would buy that and feel disappointed that it's been played with for so long, that there is smudges and scratches all over the disc. "EB Games/Gamestop suck suck my ass when it comes to used games. I've bought about 5 from them in the past and every single one had at least two scratches. I agree with you on the scratches part, it's a gamble when it comes down to buying used games, I'm always lucky when buying them because they are in good condition (some with 1 or 2 light scratches) but good deal. I say from buying from other people isn't much of a good idea but thats what I think of it, I mean yeah the used games may have bad conditions but really the used games you are buying from are from real people who once owned them. So really, there isn't much of a difference when your buying a used game from EB Games or GameStop than buying from a real person. Last edited by Toasty07; 09-13-2007 at 07:42 PM.. |

Simple. At GameStop, simply ask to see the disc, before you buy it. If it looks scratched and/or scuffed, ask the sales clerk if the store has another used copy of that game. (They usually do.)
Anyway, GameStop gives you a 30-day period to exchange a used game if it proves un-playable due to a scratch or scuff on the disc. Why, they even give you a 7-day period to return a used game for a different one, if you simply didn't like it. When it comes to buying used video games, I'd much rather deal with GameStop, than some seller via e-bay. |
