Must have Wii games?

So we've played the heck out of Wii sports, IMO - Sonic is a bust, Wii play and Wario were fun for about 5 minutes... are there any must have Wii games? Any that really take advantage Wii's motion controllers?

Trauma Center. The game would be impossible without the wiimote/nunchuck, and it's extremely precise. Unlike a lot of Wii games I've played, I've never blamed my failures in Trauma Center on the controller, just myself. It's great :)

Zelda? Only truly great game on the system so far, IMO.

I've heard mixed things about Zelda... does it live up to its predecessors?

I forgot - I have the surgery game but am lukewarm on it... it definitely uses the controllers pretty well, but its really kinda cheesy game :)

Zelda is a mixed bag. Though I'm sure it lives up to previous forms. If you liked the other Zelda games I'm pretty sure you'll like this one.

Other titles for Wii.

1) Super Paper Mario - it's a Mario game, 'nuff said.

2) Rayman Raving Rabbids - crazy game, it's a collection of mini-games.

3) Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, it's a port of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, supposed to be a good rental. I have heard the combat can be a little rough with the Wii controls though.

4) Koroinpa: Marble Mania - think Super Monkey Ball but better.

Yeah, I would have suggested Zelda, but honestly it doesn't take advantage of the Wii controls that much, except for aiming things like the bow, boomerang, etc.

I really would have liked an option to make the A button swing the sword rather than have to swing the controller around (or twitch my hand around). It looks fun at first but it eventually just gets annoying.

SSX Blur is a good game that requires precise use of the motion controls to master.

Super Paper Mario. the game's dialog, although kinda heavy, is really funny. and overall, while it may not make the best use of the wii controls, the game is fun.

Godfather: blackhand edition. this game rocks.

That's exactly what I was afraid of... just hacking motions really don't bring much value to the game. It's not like bowling, where you have to control spin, when you drop the ball, speed, etc...

Honestly, I've been playing most of the Zelda games throughout my life, and this was one of my favorites. And, it's definitely not short.
Sports is awesome to play with a friend, especially when not completely sober.
ill be receiving Spiderman-3 when it comes out, and I've heard some good things about it, so I'll let you know my first impressions.

Hmm... I think I'll throw Zelda in my Gamefly queue and give it a shot. Sounds like it has enough of a following to warrent a play or two!

Thanks!

A must-have party game is Elebits. I brought it to a friend's house on 4/20, and as one of two non-stoned people, watching them play was hilarious. It's trippy as hell and very engaging.

Kind of off topic, but for gamecube (which will run on the Wii), Naruto 4 is the best brawl game I've ever played. I don't watch the anime, but the game is spectacular. For now, I think it's only in Japan, but you can orderthe game online along with a Freeloader disc to boot it.

The best Wii games are Gamecube games :)

Hopefully it'll be like the DS sttart getting areally good library around its first birthday.

Elebits looks like what I was looking for.... Excellent suggestion... Looks like it really uses the Wii controllers.

Thanks!

QFT! I went out last night, traded in some PS2 games, and picked up a cheap wireless GC controller, memory card, and Metroid Prime for $30. Never had a gamecube, so now I get to go back and relive some (evidently) classic GC games for dirt cheap. After this, it's Metroid Prime 2, and then who knows.
