Someday I'll manage to properly post a link.

Some thoughts on the official trailer.

I've been a Bungie follower for quite some time and if any of you are you probably know what I'll be slightly mentioning here.

Bungie began as a Mac game developer and for a long time were very renowned as the premier developer of games for the Macintosh. Granted Blizzard was very well known and made good games, Bungie had a certain following. Hidden within source code of some of their games were small lines that showed great discourse for Microsoft and Bill Gates.

Now Bungie is owned by Microsoft. Imagine that. A strong disappointment that they only develop their games for Xbox now, with someone porting them to Macintosh and PC.

Quite aggravating as that their super hi res trailer is in Windows Media format only. I don't know about most of you, but I hate WMV. Their quality isn't good, not even on a fairly decent video card. The Quicktime counterpart (Apple) is at a much lower quality. This just wasn't necessary.

It's disappointing to see a once very strong Mac developer abandoning it and settling for a one sided bias.

Anybody else think this is bad? Good? I know plenty people here are hardcore PC, but hey.. I'm not trying to make a platform wars. Bungie left both Mac and PC. Their trailer is PC-centric and low pc quality at that.

Looks like another good game to me! I agree about the development though, realizm...

As long as their making good games i'm happy. If you're a fan of Macintosh, it's not like they can just decide to make great Mac exclusive games, they're owned by Microsoft now, Microsoft pays them good money, money that they need for their high budget games. Just before they got bought by Microsoft they had made that game Oni and it really wasn't all that great, now that they have a home at MS it's much easier for them to make good games that many people can enjoy.

They no longer make for Macintosh or PC, though. It's now "ported" to platforms.

They develop exclusively for Xbox now.

Since they're owned by microsoft or B3 ( Big Bad Bill ) that seems like a smart call for XBOX.

Halo's the only game I bother playing these days so HALO2 ? Bring it on !

I'm a big Myth I & II fan, so the Bungie buyout was a huge deal to our gaming community. Needless to say, as nearly all there are Mac players, we weren't pleased, and a few angry emails were written, but I now understand the reasons. It's disappointing about the porting of games, but I guess as long as the port is good, I have nothing to complain about.

I'm with you as far as WMV sucking.

Ya know, I saw this at E3 and I have to say... while it looked like a good game, I didn't see a vast visual improvement over the first game. Am I out of my gord here or did anyone else feel the same?

I LOVED Halo! And this new trailer looks awesome IMO. I always wanted a little cityscape action in the first one. I can not wait!

More people may have enjoyed Halo, but Oni was a much better game in my opinion. The camera system in Oni is hands down the best 3rd person perspective ever used in any video game, the main character actually has some character, and even though the levels are somewhat sterile, you don't have to run through them twice over. The reason it wasnt popular is that they failed to come through with the multiplayer mode.

just an observation, but I don't think I've ever seen Halo put below Oni. Wow. Rock on, man. You got a game you love. That's cool.

Halo rocks, in my humble opinion.
