Metal Gear Solid 3
So, Konami showed the first movie for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater at E3. It seems to take place, at least in part, in the 1960's. Has anyone else here seen the preview? Any thoughts, hopes, new information? Here's the link to the official site (hope it works)

Hideo Kojima dropped a cool tidbit in an interview somewhere. I was wondering how the heck Snake could be in the 1960s, seeing as how he doesn't seem that old. Kojima mentioned that the character in the E3 vid only has one eye, implying that it may in fact be Big Boss you're playing as, which I think is really cool.
Overall the trailer looks pretty good, but so did the MGS2 trailer, and I thought that game was crap. Hope they don't go nuts on the story this time. |

I think Kojima mentioned that MGS3 would be more game oriented than story, there won't be a high tech radar either, adding to the realism. MGS2 also bugged me, because the whole way through, I thought "It's like I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 1" and it turns out, I was.

No... you're not playing MGS1... You're playing <A HREF="http://us.imdb.com/Title?0082340">"Escape from New York"</A>. Heheh. Good ol' Kurt Russel. Or should I say, Snake Pliskkin? Last edited by t-b0n3r; 06-13-2003 at 07:54 AM.. |

MGS2 was a fun game...it had new game play...but yes. it was MGS1 all over again. However they did all that story stuff. but a few questions are still on my mind:
1. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO FOX DIE?! 2. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. you seriously mean we have to wait for the PS3 version to figure out what happens to the baby and THE PATRIOTS...BS. But i do like the thought of playing through the forest, with non linier non boxed off gameplay, but that makes the game seem impossibly hard. maybe it's just me.

Cockmonger : I think FOXDIE killed everyone it was supposed to in MGS1, Solid Snake was a carrier, but I don't think it was programmed to kill him. As for MGS3, don't be surprised if there's a lot more to the game than running through a jungle in the 60's. When MGS2 was announced, they didn't mention anything about the Plant chapter or Raiden. Even if the game is pure prequel, it's got to make for a better back story than was provided by the original NES games.
