Oldschool BBS games
This may be considered an advertisement. If it is, please delete this thread. I don't wish to break any rules =)
I was playing around on everwars (www.everwars.com) for a few days, and it was pretty fun until they implemented a 5 minute time limit between fights and everyone I knew left. What would normally take 10 minutes to play now takes over an hour. Frustrated, my friend came up with a solution. He setup a BBS (appropriately named Nostalgia) and installed Legend of the Red Dragon on it. It's very similar to everwars, and we had a lot of fun playing it. Well we've decided to take things a step further. Anyone remember the multiplayer Trade Wars 2002 game? I went ahead and registered a copy and got it setup and working. If you're interested in playing, I've setup the server to be accessible via the 'net. No registration process, just needs a name and password that you can login with in the future. telnet://pwned.com If you're used to helper programs to play the game, they've got a couple windows versions out that work over telnet. Personally I recommend SWATH ( www.swath.org ), it's got all the decent scripts included (such as port pair trading, sell/steal/transport, etc.) and besides, automation makes life easy! This takes all the micro-managing (read: the not fun stuff) out of the game. If you're interested in playing, drop on by! Hope to see you there! PS. We're running 2 games at the moment. Game A is 'classic' settings, while game B is in tournament mode and will start in 6 days. |
