Help Needed with Card Game

okay so i wanted to purchase the Lunch Money card game, but it wasn't available at my FLGS (friendly local gaming store).
http://www.atlas-games.com/product_tables/AG1100.php

to sum up, it's basically a simple card game that re-inacts a streetfight using attack, defense, and specialty cards.

Beer Money, a stand-alone expansion to Lunch Money, however was available. so $20.00 lighter and 110-cards heavier, i left my FLGS... http://www.atlas-games.com/lunchmoney/index.php

not knowing exactly what to expect, i read the rules and examined the cards. after a few practice games and a few late nighters mastering the art of the smack down i have come to the following conclusion about Beer Money.

THE GOOD: Addictively fun. Nothing like laying the smack down on your opponent, pulling off a devestating combination of attacks and or defending against a hellacious fury of blows from a cocky, trash-talking enemy!

THE BAD: the cards are not colored as the rules state they should be. i'm not sure if it's a manufacturer defect with the Beer Money set, but it would help identify the cards better if they were. why didn't they just print each card's effect/rules on the card itself? referring to the rules reference sheet everytime you get a specialty card gets really annoying.

THE UGLY: the pictures and quotes have very little or nothing to do with the theme. from what i understand (i could be wrong), the original theme was psychologically dark images of catholic school girls brutilizing eachother for lunch money. Beer Money, i would figure, would probably be psychologically dark images of drunk college frat boys, homeless bums, or alcoholics fighting desperately for beer money and quoting the most humilating and vulgar insults and put-downs... Nope. it's all images of the one homely teen-age chick in a white gown/dress in various "artistic" poses in a dark gothic setting background. most of the quotes are just bad poetry lines.

overall, it's a great game to play but needs a lot of improvement. the cards should be colored as mentioned in the rules, perhaps a card type symbol added to the corner. the cards should have more theme related pictures and quotes. the cards should have the rules printed on the cards even if it means reducing the pictures to a thumbnail size...

i lost my Beer Money rules and was shit-out-of-luck until i located Atlas online and thankfully was able to download a free copy of the rules. http://www.atlas-games.com/product_tables/AG1104.php i noticed that Atlas offers a free Beer Money Playmat that has the card rules on it, and it's quite nice but it shouldn't be necessary... i went to kinkos to have one printed up and laminated but was quoted $64.00 (fuck that shit).

i've actually purchased some blank playing cards and i am in the process of re-doing the entire set (for personal use ofcourse).

now, here's what i need help with; i am collecting cool pics of amature street fighters in action, psychologically dark images of drunk college frat boys, homeless bums, or alcoholics fighting desperately for beer money and quoting the most humilating and vulgar insults and put-downs... i have even considered some pics of the 3 stoogies slapping eachother around as well.

any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like great fun! I'd love to sketch out some scenes for you. Send me a PM and you can tell me more detailed instructions of what scene(s) you are looking for.

Edit: You should post this in the Titled Artwork forum as well. I'm sure there would be lots of interested and talented people willing to help.

actually, you can download the rules (card descriptions) and the card lists from the Atlas website.

For example; take the basic attack card "Smack". The card is simply a picture of a smiling homely looking teenage girl with braces and a quote that says "You are so cute... when you cry", the word SMACK is labeled down the side and a large number 1 in the corner represents how many counters worth of damage are dealt to your opponent.

What I want to do is something possibly like this;
  • add a symbol that represents what type of card it is; Basic Attack cards, Weapon cards, Defense cards, and Specialty cards.
  • a symbol denoting how many counters are taken from opponent and a symbol denoting how many counters are restored to the player.
  • A text box to explain how the card is played. For the "Smack" card it would say - "This basic attack causes your opponent to lose 3 counters unless they can Dodge, Block, or otherwise defend against this attack. Discard after being played".
  • a quote relating to the card's effect; i.e. "I'm gonna smack the taste out of your mouth, bitch!"
  • and a pic also relating to the cards effect; i.e.
