Medieval 2: Total War
Sooo..... anyone have the game? I was able to play it for a while the other day, and I liked it a lot. They didn't change a whole lot from Rome: TW... it's mostly exactly the same. The graphics are slightly better, the interface in a little bit different and the advisory pages are slightly different. Other than that, it is pretty much the same game as RTW.
There are some changes that make it interesting, such as the addition of three different agent types: Priests, Princesses (a type of diplomat) and Merchants. The Priests are just guys that you move into godless territories and each turn they stay in that territory the percentage of religious people goes up. Not sure what else goes on though, as I haven't played it much. The Princesses are diplomats but I've never seen what they do. I do know that they can marry people and then you gain a male family member but lose the princess. The Merchants are agents that you simply move onto the resource tiles that are on the map, which results in a slight increase in income. Anyways, those were the biggest changes to the game that I saw, but I wasn't able to play much. Anyone else played M2: TW?

I have the original M:TW as well as R:TW, both are very good games. I dont feel the need to buy the second one for simply a graphics upgrade.

Well, I've never played the first Medieval, so I'm pretty happy they made Medieval 2.

Hell yes I play it! The original MTW has to be one of my top 5 all time favorite games, and this one looks to be joining the list. I'm extremely pleased with the way it turned out. Crusades are a blast like never before MTW - now they have more purpose.
I'm about 120 turns in and I've crushed Scotland, captured Paris, successfully led a crusade to capture Tunis and am now leading a crusade to Toledo against those damned Portugeuse. Only the Mongols can rival me in any regard, but fortunately for them I am nowhere near them geographically. Grandpa William (the Conqueror) would be proud. |

Seaver, it's completely worth buying the new version. There's a lot more to it than revamped graphics. There's...
. Improved campaign AI . Improved combat AI . Larger world . More numerous events . More varied units . More interesting campaign mode . Much, much more...
