ok, so a while back I dl'ed two files from Kazaa for GTA3, both with a .nrg file extension. They are image files that allow you to burn to disc using Nero. One of the files was an installer and the other the play disc. So I finally got around to burning them and trying it out. The installer seems to work fine. But when I insert the play disc and try to run the exe, I get an error message saying to insert the "correct" disc and hit ok. Tried it in both of my drives and no-go. I am assuming the game has some sort of security feature that reads a serial number on the disc, and since the disc isnt the original, it wont go.

anyone ever run into this? got any ideas? is there a workaround?

It worked with the original, don't know about Vice. But I don't know if we're supposed to be discussing such things on the board
