xbox360 owners: what'd you pay & where?
Can't find one of these for the life of me. The majority of the 360s on eBay are going for over $600, with shipping costs as high as $50-$60. People seem to have them and are playing them, and more new games are slowly coming out for it, but I have a hard time justifying pay more for a console than for a computer.
So current owners, where did you buy your system and what did you end up paying? Did you get a core system, pro system, certain game bundle...and how are you enjoying it so far? |

My girlfriend got mine. She was checking in with Futureshop a couple of times a week since before Christmas. She ended up getting it finally mid January. She got the deluxe version with all the features. There seem to be a few of the base models around the city, but the full packages are very hard to come by. The only reason that she got hers was the sales guy held one for her, even though he wasn't supposed to do that.

I got mine for $100 over retail for the Core (which sucks) a week before Christmas on Craigslist. Found a local guy, drove and picked it up right there.
After playing PGR3, Condemned and Kameo, I can't say I'm really impressed. I wouldn't push it, and just wait until you can pick one up in the store without any effort. |

I had one pre-ordered at EB Games, but a friend of mine found a couple online and bought 1 for him and 1 for me. I think I payed him about $475 for the premium console and a second wireless controller, which is about what it would cost at the store, plus tax. He got one of the systems at CircuitCity.com and one at Walmart.com. They were shipped on December 23rd. I just canceled my pre-order after that and got a game instead.

I am the manager at my store. I just bought one on our second shipment on December 12th. It sucked to wait 2 weeks, but I was too lazy to pre-order at a competitor during the summer.
I of course got a 10% discount off retail. ---------------------- I think people's disappointment stems from the fact that they didn't buy a PS2 at launch when it was hot. The games for that system were even bigger piles of shit. At least COD2 and PGR are good, if lacking replay value. Oblivion and Gears of War hit in 4 weeks, 360 production is finally back up, so you should see sales of systems and games really hit a high point. |
