Jet, I'll answer you here about downtown St.Pete, because I don't want to threadjack.
It's changed quite a bit, and I personally think it's awesome. They have this great strip of restaurants, various stores, and a movie theatre, the area is called Baywalk. It's changed, but it hasn't changed for the worse, at least to me it hasn't. I really wish I still lived down there but alas, I do not. Edit: Actually, come to think of it...it hasn't changed a lot in the sense that there's new buildings etc, but it's changed to be a lot more appealing I'd say. It's more tourist friendly, if you will. I remember when downtown St. Pete was borderline ghetto. One of the restaurants down there is Dan Marino's place, too.

I wonder if all the drive-thru milk places ae still thriving, but that would be in the suburbs of St. Pete, mind you.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they still are. We have a few up here in Palm Harbor.

Man, what I wouldn't give to go see the Pier during Christmas time again.
Fondest memories. Also, did you know that some portions of Pirates of the Caribbean were shot in St. Pete?

You know I had heard that, was it the first one that had some parts down there? Man, I remember we used to go to The Pier all the time. I remember when the Hands On Museum was there for a bit. We used to go to the public pool around there too, forgot what it was called. Hell, I remember my damn address! I used to live on 4th ave south. We were the only 'white' family on the block (even though we're a mix of both white and Puerto Rican.) I've seen a drive-by shooting, they'd sell drugs right in front of us kids playing football in the street. So much fun I had as a kid though, living there.

Wow, I had no idea that it was that bad. Still a youth back then. I remember I frequented Martin Luther King Ave. to get to school, which was a Catholic one, hidden in the neighborhood. St. Paul's, I believe it was.
And I lived on 74th or 78th Street, walking distance to a Kash-and-Karry. Though I hear from my sister that the chain was bought a out by a bigger one. My meories of St. Pete are kinnda the same that I am developing here, that the city that I live in is one of the safest in the area.

I moved out of St. Pete up towards Clearwater when I was around 14 (I'm 20 now.) My neighborhood was nowhere near as bad as some others, but it was still pretty bad. We used to go to the MLK parades every year until 1 year they decided to start shooting and going crazy. Ever since then we haven't gone back.

A shame indeed. Not that I really watch baseball, but are the Devilrays getting any better?
Also, I have been getting pestered with notices from Clearwater that I have won around $2 million. Could it be perhaps be true?

I don't watch baseball either but I think they are. I do remember when they used to suck complete ass though. About that $2million, I'd say look into it...you never know eh? At least the Bucs have been doing pretty well the last few seasons! We just need to find a good QB and some younger defensive players.

I completely agree with strengthing the defensive side. I think the QB has some potential, but he is awfully young, and still lacks the maturity and experience that is expected of him. Do you know what our standings were at the end of last season? A winning record, or not?

I think we're going to be going with Jeff Garcia (the QB that took McNabb's place last season when he got injured.) We actually went 4-12 last season, but the couple seasons before that weren't so bad.

Wow, I think is even worse than the 'Skins did here.
Both teams favor rookie players from Florida State, though.

Warrick Dunn anyone? I think we picked up a defensive player from Clemson that should hopefully help our pass rushing.

Can't wait for the new season for some chances at redemption, and perhaps playoffs.
Also, how long has our team been around? Maybe 15 years?

The Bucs joined the NFL in 1976 (looked it up on wiki.) 31 years to be exact, and we won the Super Bowl in 2002.

You should start a thread in Tilted Sports during the pre-season.
I'd visit. Not sure if there has ever been one. Glad to see a fresh face in here.

Football and Florida I guess but eh.
question then... You have obvious chemistry with someone, tons in common, both very flirtatios with each other, doubtless attraction on both sides. Yet you cannot get the girl to go out, allways has "something" to do, and hasn't had a boyfriend or even a date for that matter in years. All psyc aside how would you go about attempting to advance this relationship?
