Nobody wonders
quite enough for their own good
until it's too late

BadNick 05-13-2010 04:46 PM

Am I late? Did I miss anything?

I mean those as rhetorical questions, since I'm feeling rhetorical.

"How much longer must our people endure this injustice?" is another example of a rhetorical question.

dlish 05-13-2010 11:23 PM

its weekend already here :D

jetee and mexican, what sort of 'celebration' did you have in mind?

BadNick 05-14-2010 07:00 AM

This is my test drive weekend. I'm beating up on dealer supplied turbo Mini Coopers at an autocross on Saturday, and beating up on my own hot rod all weekend in preparation for fine tuning on Tuesday.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-14-2010 07:49 AM

Having fun with your testing
on the road to wherever you go
is the best way to get there.

BadNick 05-14-2010 08:20 AM

I might be listening to Willie singing "On the Road Again"

Ourcrazymodern? 05-14-2010 08:28 AM

Now that it's running,
oh, so smoothly, through my mind,
we will be sharing.

carrot glace 05-14-2010 01:10 PM

That sparkling sensational,
if you can barely remember it,
still might have been worth its was.

(OMG, Sharon was right!)

I have a thread for that, you know (music + scenario stamped into your mind?... guess you weren't here).

Going back a little further, because I just don't know how to let things go, a picture, about juice (and my thirst for it):

Now how did that get there?

MexicanOnABike 05-15-2010 06:13 AM

I like that graph. because today, before I go to bed, I will post an updated history of this thread.

Praising the grapefruit,
& more so, the tomato,
what's with the x-box?

BadNick 05-15-2010 08:55 AM

plus they're high in anti-oxidants. Good for humans, not good for rocket fuel.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-15-2010 01:40 PM

"Good" has its shadings,
& many intimations,
while it has both ohs.

BadNick 05-15-2010 01:47 PM

I could have said "great" since it has "eat" at the end of it.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-15-2010 01:54 PM

& that might have led
to some sex innuendoes,
as if it didn't.

Are you watching this right now?

David Attenborough.

(didn't I mention he was the voiceover narrator for Disocvery/BBC's LIFE? I didn't realize he was so accomplished.)

MexicanOnABike 05-16-2010 09:00 AM

Speaking of parking tickets... well, this is just a parking nightmare.

BadNick 05-16-2010 04:03 PM

they're building one of these in Philadelphia now

Jetée 05-16-2010 04:11 PM

The thing about it is: none of the cars are truly "parked", otherwise wouldn't the drivetrain be ruined once forced through those conveyors if the wheels are locked? more like temporary relocation and holding, but that's just me being technical.

Thanks for posting that, BadNick. I had no idea... (that the robots were already so advanced).

cue ominous theme

BadNick 05-16-2010 07:44 PM

Jet, I thought you have a thread about advanced robots taking over the universe. I'm sure you have one somewhere.

Perhaps this film clip below better shows how they park the cars while the wheels don't roll, so in fact, they can be in "park". I know the one they're building in Philly lifts the cars by the tires so they don't have to roll at all. Look at the last few seconds of this clip where you can see the clever levers sliding in slots under the tires.

The Beijing Olympics will long be remembered for Usain Bolt's stunning 100 and 200 metre world records and a dominant performace from the Jamaican women's team. This documentary asks the age old question - Why Do Jamaicans Run So Fast?

BadNick 05-17-2010 06:01 AM

their tricks are internally
generated, too.

I remember parking fondly.

Zooksport2 05-17-2010 01:56 PM

Why sort through a coffee table full of remotes when all their jobs can be done by one handheld wonder, the PRO2 8-in-1 Universal Learning remote? With its large backlit scree n and support for all major brands (or it can learn from your old remotes) you'll find life a little easier with this smart little gadget.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-17-2010 02:05 PM

Proliferated remotes
are much more confusedly pointless
than the ones who made them up.
