I forgot what I was going to say.

BadNick 11-07-2009 01:54 PM

I remember! I remember!

Jet,
the weekend and holiday rate is double time and a half until 6am Monday morning, at which time it drops back to regular pay for the 1st 8 hours and then time and a half for any overtime.

Jetée 11-07-2009 01:54 PM

I've said that before, tho I cannot recall from whence exactly.

I don't think too much, I just improvise.

Could someone describe what this site is about?
I bookmarked it awhile ago, under "PicInspiration Blogs"

Is it a picture site?

(I haven't visited it at all in the past six months.)

What was I going to ask? *tick

What experience, if any, is needed?

BadNick 11-07-2009 02:21 PM

the less you have the more you're worth

Jetée 11-07-2009 02:34 PM

What kind of solutions, scrubbinies do you use to clean the (auto) parts?

BadNick 11-07-2009 02:41 PM

I just brought the parts into my kitchen to see if I clean them in the sink, but if it gets too messy I'll take them to work on Monday since we have a professional parts cleaner.

The sooty sort of dirt I've had on my hands since fondling the parts seems to easily wash off with mild dish detergent. So I'll try just brushing the parts with that and water. I think the dirt is just mostly oily vapor depositions over time.

Zooksport2 11-07-2009 02:43 PM

Happy to assist. Send over parts, and I'll wash em for ya....

Use Kero to wash the parts....

And I'm sure my shipping costs are miniscule, probably less (meant: free) if I took the [piece(s)] train.

Kero? Is it a product, or a person?

Kero One

ring 11-07-2009 02:50 PM

Large tanks of boiling Trichloroethylene.

Put the parts in a basket, walk up the steps,

Hold your breath, dunk dunk dunk.

Ahhh...the memories.

Jetée 11-07-2009 02:52 PM

Okay, I was right. He is an underground hip-hop artist.

Also: In 2005, Kero One released the self-produced album, "Windmills of the Soul," which was named the "Best Hip Hop Album of 2006" by Reemix Magazine. In 2007, he opened the office for own Plug Label. In 2009, he released his sophomore album, "Early Believers."

... both albums are now on my ever-expanding wishlist of albums to own. I still have to find that "pajama" CD that BadNick posted in the "visual architectronics" thread. Did I save the name?

1833

BadNick 11-07-2009 02:53 PM

Zook, thanks, I'm sure kero would work great. I was also thinking brake cleaner...but first I want to try something easily disposed of like dish detergent. I recall some realiable Dupont data on how even a little spill of oil or kerosene is highly polluting of the local underground water table.

damn, the Aussie's are takin' over! Hi Bijoufem.

Radio aficionado, Nick: does your local area station carry FoxSportsNews overnights or do you have better luck with the SportingNews?

I personally prefer the latter, but the new former is growing on me.

Also, for those of you that truly know my keen intuition and uncanny knack for finding my coincidences, I researched (finally) the album picture that BadNick posted about 2-and-half-months ago (08/24).

the album name is <S> marks the Spot ; artist: Sandwich

okay, here is an audible version:
track #11 "Selos" (I think the whole album is on youtube; also, I don't know what language this particular tune is sung in, but by the title, I think it is Espanol ~ "selos" means sky, heavens I think, or is it "cielos"? Ah, he said "la luna"... I'm still not sure.)

whatever, it's a good song, I think. What I want you to look at is the upload date on youtube: it was uploaded today. It's like I was meant to find it, none other day, no other inspiration, or conversation before this moment, for me to happen upon it.

1831 Weird. The most coincidental man in the world does it again.

I'm grateful for all you and the 2-D companionship.

Jetée 11-07-2009 03:36 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich_(band)

There's the link above.

This is the (abridged) history:
Sandwich is a Filipino rock band that was formed in 1995 by Raimund Marasigan and Diego Castillo for the purpose of fulfilling their mutual desire to work together. Castillo recruited former band mates (from The Aga Muhlach Experience) Mike Dizon (of Teeth) to play drums and Myrene Academia to handle bass duties. Marasigan was a judge at a contest where Marc Abaya jammed to a Beastie Boys song with his band, Shirley Beans. He was then recruited by Marasigan to be their vocalist.

The album that Nick posted innocuously elsewhere, and I remembered I said I'd look for it, then I did for ten minutes (ago), and I've wound up here. I just can't believe that the entire album (which was released sometime in 2008) was uploaded in its entirety just today, when I had an itch to find out more.

I guess music is my thing today. (I just finished watching Almost Famous about two-and-a-half hours ago.)

ah, so:

I forgot to mention: if I ever say I just completed watching a film, it means I watched it for the first time, and for the most part, I liked it.

This is how it shapes up as, now 2-and-a-third years later:

ring 11-07-2009 04:38 PM

I don't see 'Good Will Hunting' on your list yet,
I think you would enjoy that film.

Jetée 11-07-2009 05:09 PM

Yeah, I've watched that film maybe four times over, but I never list films that I haven't seen in its entirety, which is why it is absent.

I think I know what happens at the end, but I can never sit through the whole thing.

I also noticed I listed Hotel Rwanda twice. now amended. Total films in over 800+ days and counting of tally marks: 219 films

I wanted to talk more about the errie linkages of 'Sandwich'. 1829

Pretty eerie coincidence about the Sandwich music album. I remember that picture of the girl holding the CD.

Since you complained about your internet bandwidth, I wonder if this works for you...it being a live radio link broadcast of SportingNews Sporting News - Radio

But NPR offers a podcast of World Cafe here NPR: World Cafe Words and Music from WXPN Podcast : NPR Podcasts

Fox Sports News is "in the air, everywhere", or so one broadcaster tells me, weekly. It's very popular in Dallas, LA, Philly, all the major markets.

I inquire because recently my favorite radio station, besides having its format flipped from talk radio to sports talk radio, switched its allegiance from SportingNews Radio to the growing monopoly that has become FoxSportsNews.

Sorry, I meant to reply right afterwards, but my connection sank six minutes after your reply.

I already forgot what I had previously written.

While I prefer SportingNews, after being exposed to FoxSports News now day and night for awhile, I found I like what has been referred to as ""possibly the best sports talk show host in America" in Tony Bruno. I also like the "celebration of life through sports", hosted by David Stein (SportingNews).

FoxSports is in the major markets, such as Dallas, New York, LA, Philly, and more... it's just a growing monopoly of talking heads muttering about balls, with only a few of them actually having a worthwhile opinion.

Man, my first post was much more coherent than this smattering that I'm offering now. 1824

Also, the National Film Registry link that I posted previously now has me reinvigored to procure some choice titles to be added to some select threads.
