another day, another dollar.

My niece got married yesterday, it was a beautiful, fun wedding. Lots of out-of-town relatives came, very good food, meh music, I didn't get too drunk. Tomorrow they're off to Bora Bora for the honeymoon...I hope they don't run into typhoons, tsunamis, or earthquakes which seem popular in that part of the world.

Tophat665 10-04-2009 01:56 PM

I have nothing to say about this...

BadNick 10-04-2009 02:15 PM

Th, you're a man after my own heart since I was even humming that to them yesterday as they announced the Bora Bora trip. I love that Bali Hai song ever since first hearing it as a kid...actually the whole musical was very enjoyable. I did confirm that they're not going to Tora Bora.

Tophat665 10-04-2009 07:23 PM

Ha! Tora Bora...
That calls for some of this...

Ourcrazymodern? 10-04-2009 09:14 PM

I always wondered why The Clash chose their name - they don't clash with anything I know.

Do you remember Walter?

He is weally delighted to raise awareness (and the score was nice, too).

Tophat665 10-05-2009 03:42 AM

QUIET! Walter has something to say.

BadNick 10-05-2009 06:23 AM

I heard Sarah is changing her name to Walter Palin since she enjoys "The Young and the Restless"

ring 10-05-2009 08:32 AM

Sarah Lee. I've heard nobody does it better.

BadNick 10-05-2009 09:48 AM

I'll eat to that.

In only 510 more posts we'll be at 20,000! For some reason I'm attracted to that "510" number...no idea why.

Ourcrazymodern? 10-05-2009 10:00 AM

If I knew
I would tell you now,
but I don't.

(5&10?)

BadNick 10-05-2009 10:55 AM

I just spent some time searching for a "510" connection that popped out at me but didn't find it. So I don't know, either.

But I liked the local Woolworth's 5&10 when I was a little kid. I clearly remember the hardwood floor planks and the pretty lady working there who wore bright red lipstick.

I know Ourcrazymodern? landed on the last palindrome.

You're alluding to "that other" thread. I like a fair contest, but I wonder if there is some way to cheat and beat them?...like some kind of script that also posts every post in there into this thread, just to help us along, so to speak.

Tophat665 10-07-2009 08:34 AM

The Proclaimers always make me think of Boiled in Lead. For a number of reasons, really...

ring 10-07-2009 09:29 AM

Spidey and I were discussing pond water, recently.

She says hello back.

two thousand, four hundred, ninety-nine (is that how you spell it?... this is from, like, third grade)

Ourcrazymodern? 10-07-2009 05:04 PM

& in the third grade
had a wonderful teacher
without equal since.

Jetée 10-07-2009 05:11 PM

two4nine8

BadNick 10-07-2009 05:18 PM

2499 Brunk has eccentricity of 0.1220018 which I think is less than mine.

Jet, while you were in third grade at that time, I had just moved into the house that I still live in today.

2497 bottles of beer on the wall

So, the first week of February, 1998? (2,4-98)

That would be a right uncanny coincidence if I was in the 3rd grade at that time, but my my mind's math tells me that was only 11-1/2 years ago. Way off on estimating my age, I think, with tinkering.

(Now I actually have to consult google on how many seasons it's been since I was in the third grade)

- 2496.

BadNick 10-07-2009 05:35 PM

oops, I mistook what you said. I mean that 2499 Brunk was discovered in Nov. 1978.

2495 I am jive

Jetée 10-07-2009 05:45 PM

Unbelievable.

International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia there in that time in which I outlined. I had to use more fingers than I had anticipated but I was in the third grade at that time.

That's it. I am the most coincidental man in the universe. Nothing else. Trademark it. Postmark the date. You've met that guy, and I'll probably help you pick up your grocery bag or tell you the time or nod your your way next year this week wherever you may be, because I'm just that uncanny.

2494

BadNick 10-07-2009 05:58 PM

talk about unbelievable, in 2494 I'll be 545 years old. Well, that's not really unbelievable.

2493 I like a tree

Jetée 10-07-2009 06:01 PM

my parathensized comments as you were alluding to above were me pondering-on-a-print-screen that spelling long numers out were a part of the curriculum of young third-graders.

2492 as you choose. (look up that date; it's up to you) ... (and wikipedia)

Would this work?

2491

Hey, it did.

May 6, 2492: Belgian astronomer Jean Meeus asserts that the orbits of all eight planets and Pluto will be within the same 90° arc of the Solar System. The last time this is believed to have occurred was on February 1, 949.

Buck Rogers (c. 2419 with the original comics; 2491 with the 1970s TV series).

Jetée 10-07-2009 06:05 PM

Sadly, the year 2490, both in reality and in fiction, had not much going on at the time.

Maybe a dinosaur died out that year, and just one person notied this, but while running he got tired, and a tree fell on him. Nobody heard it.
