Friends are silly fun.

silly friends with silly fun for all
with falling friends from walls of nothing nothing as tangible as truth itself |
if you find me fallen
do what you will, but enjoy I might taste good http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...pty_dumpty.jpg |
so much depends
upon a clumsy egg man scrambled for breakfast beside the red brick wall (apologies to William Carlos Williams) |
talk about red, that big red line at the top of our TFP front page is getting longer and longer but not quite longest yet.

I'm not trying to bum the mood, but gotta keep this longest thread going.....
.................................................................................................... My mum died this morning. After a 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Finally, she is pain free. Sad that she has passed, but not distraught. I am worried about my dad, though. . |
Just make sure he knows that you're a resorce for him. He will deffenetly just need a ear to listen to him and also if you can help him with anything and everything so he has the ability to mourn, grieve, and cope like he needs to. It's hard for a mourning person to do simple tasks, like eat, drink, and sleep, when you've lost someone like that in your life. Doing those things are like the best you could possibly do.
Hope that helps. Funny you mentioned something, since one I've been through my many fair shares of dealing with death I also happen to be taking Psychology of Death and Dying this semester. |
everyone mourns in their own way, just be perceptive to your dads needs, just dont pamper him, you cant fill the hole your mom left behind. give it time. thats all i can say.

Damn Zook, my sincerest condolences. I've yet to really understand what it's like to lose someone so close to you, but I hope it doesn't happen soon.
I'd have to agree with carrot's advice too. Be strong. |

longest cave in the world:
Mammoth Cave near Cave City, Kentucky, is the world's longest cave. More than 367 miles (591 km) of passages have been mapped. To get an idea of how long Mammoth Cave is, you should consider that the second longest cave in the world, Optimisticeskay Cave, in the Ukrainskaya region of the C.I.S. (former Soviet Union), is only 143 miles (230 km) long. Mammoth Cave is three times longer than its nearest competitor. Not only is the cave the longest in the world, but cave mappers believe the cave system will eventually prove to be 560 miles (900 km) long! Mammoth Cave was formed in Mississippian-age limestone rock. The cave is 379 feet (118 m) deep, and contains at least 5 levels of passages. The levels were formed in response to changes in the Ohio River during the late Tertiary and Quaternary Periods. The lower levels of the cave are still active and subject to back flooding from the Green River. If you visit the park, tours are available on lighted paths and, for the more adventurous, a wild cave tour is available on a reservation basis. To find out more about the park, visit the Mammoth Cave Web site. For all its magnitude, it should be remembered that Mammoth Cave is only one of many large caves in Kentucky. Kentucky is home to another 14 of the longest caves in the world. Prior to 1983, it was 3, but the 50 mile (80 km) long Roppel Cave System was connected to Mammoth Cave and removed from the list. The Fisher Ridge cave system currently ranks seventh on the world list, with a total length of 112 miles (180 km). Twelve other Kentucky caves are on the World's list of longest caves. A cave must have a minimum length of 15 km to be included on this list. |
The longest three days.
The Ides of March have passed. The tulips are up and the first orchid bud has opened. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...y/DSC_0427.jpg |

Badnick! you got the last palindrome!

Thanks for the heads-up, ring. Since I missed it as it happened, I just went back and relished the beauty of something that makes as much sense forward as it does backward.
