cdwonderful 03-07-2009 01:57 PM

mmmmmmmm....... pizza

BadNick 03-07-2009 03:37 PM

...talk about pizza, the theme of the Philadelphia Flower Show this year is "Bella Italia". I was there on Wednesday with my dearest mommy, who, by the way, has been my mom for the longest time. I took a couple hundred pics I'm sorting through but this one is the longest one of these growing flower things I've ever seen:

The longest word in any of the major English language dictionaries is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, a word which refers to a lung disease contracted from the inhalation of very fine silica particles, specifically from a volcano. Research has discovered that this word was originally a hoax. It has since been used in a close approximation of its originally intended meaning, lending at least some degree of validity to its claim.

The Oxford English Dictionary contains pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism (30 letters).

The longest non-technical word in major dictionaries is flocciomgnauciomgnihiliomgpiliomgfication at 29 letters. Consisting of a series of Latin words meaning "nothing" and defined as "the act of estimating something as worthless", its usage has been recorded as far back as 1741

"The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

Absolutely, dear...it's in the U.S. Male, you should have it shortly.

But one question: are you an avatar schizoido? Not that there's anything wrong with avatar schizoidos; they can be the nicest people when you get to know them :oogle:

...sorry, it's in my blood because of my Hungarian/Carpathian Mountain heritage. Nothing I can do about it.

Ya gotta love australia's gun laws.....:

A teenager has been charged after he allegedly fired a spud gun in suburban Cloverdale.

Police will allege that about 11am yesterday they were called to the Trink Street house after a loud noise was heard, similar to a shot gun being fired. Witnesses had also reported seeing a nearby tree branch to fall to the ground.

A home made spud gun in the laundry of the 19-year-old man’s residence, which was allegedly the weapon used to shot at the tree.

The man has been charged with discharging a firearm in a manner to cause fear and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The teenager is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Spud gun = Potato gun.

I was half expecting the cops to be knocking on my door last night. My kid just got and was test firing his automatic BB pistol in our yard; so I set up a target and he fires off a series of ten or twenty shots and I hear someone not too far away yelling "hey, stop that shit!" ...I think it was just some kids passing by.

Hey, Zook, that spud gun story reminds me that the next annual world championship punkin chunckin contest is coming up soon in nearby Delaware...of course it's all about "the longest": World Championship PunkinChunkin My employer has been planning to have us, the engineering dept. here, build the ultimate punkin chucker. 1900 (foot?) throw?

Crikey. Your gonna need Big Bertha!

BadNick 03-09-2009 06:24 AM

It seems that 1900 is not the longest overall, although the 10 year old and under group just barely got over 1900 feet...the longest I could see in the records is 4483.51 ft done last year by Young Glory III.
