Longest longing comes in to play.
Lunch is a kinda weird word. oh..congrats on the 700! |
thanks, grace be with all of us, though I do not aspire to be in the 700 club....not that there's anything wrong with the 700 club....though I do like the palidromes since they remind me of riding my powerful steed of a palamino (Roy Rogers FTW!) with mane blowing in the monsoon ...I just made up that alliteration strange as it may seem since I doubt many horses would be galloping around in a monsoon ...but the poor humans who have recently endured such natural forces stab a little dagger into a corner of my heart, especially the children
|
Oh yes.
We all have the urge to bring those in need to our bosom. Our hearts and hands want to reach many people. |
My friend in Hong Kong collected money to send cases of water to the mainland ...I hope it helped in some very small way.
|
Yes.
I believe that as long as there are those that will help, that eventually there will be no more want. |
I wish/hope that were true, ring. I fear that mother nature and the universe are indifferent to the travials of human bugs on unnamed useless asteroids floating between dark matters.
edit: a glimmer of hope struck my brain - - that who cares about mother nature as long (...longest...) as we care for each other. |
Hope springs, frolics and prances for a reason.
Oh my..thinking of Spring. Pollen pollen everywhere, up my nose, on the windshield, in a yellow slippery slime when I turn on the wiper-blades. |
pollen doesnt fuck with me. it just gives my car a kick ass yellow to green fade.
|
IF you were sitting
I might have finely caught you Upon my girlfriend. Now, then, how should one spell that? |
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Pollen fucks with a lot of people. Bad pollen.
|
Come fly me.
|
Isn't it time for you to hit the road? ;)

The future is coming at the speed of light.
Maybe possible; envisioning meat-grinders profits us after.. This ain't even funny. ...sorry. |
Why be sorry? It's funny in a way, no? ...I mean the speed of light thing reminded me of "heat" and the meat-grinder of "juicy hamburger" and I think that one of the postulates of general relativity is that as a mass approaches the speed of light, more and more of the input energy needing to accelerate it further goes to increasing its mass, so it seems to me that it ends up being a Giant Hamburger ...and he's sort of a funny person around here.

Why?
I wonder who was the first ever to ask. |

Walruses are....kinda creepy yet fascinating in a creepy smelly way.
Not too many people would hang about their enclosure at the zoo for long. |
After reading that article, my perception of the walrus has changed. They are just like large cuddly teddy bears who want affection, attention, and food ...oh yes, it's lunch time very soon and I'm having a triple decker liverwurst club sandwich on lightly toasted rye, with crispy bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion mustard, mayo, with a bottle of Stewart's black cherry soda. And to prolong..est it even more, later soon I'll post of pic of it before I eat it ...cause I'm such a graphic guy.

When?

to what degree?
...to add some length to this Space Cadet's post, I'll drop in this interesting recent report about Jupiter: In what's beginning to look like a case of planetary measles, a third red spot has appeared alongside its cousins — the Great Red Spot and Red Spot Jr. — in the turbulent Jovian atmosphere. This third red spot, which is a fraction of the size of the two other features, lies to the west of the Great Red Spot in the same latitude band of clouds. The visible-light images were taken on May 9 and 10 with Hubble's Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ewredspot2.jpg |
i'd like to reserve a room near the top of the big circle. should be nice at this time of day.
|
Powerful storms can be interesting to look at and feel from nearby, though scary and potentially tragic to experience too closely, so I hope it's not too windy around the big circle. The wind velocities of the clouds on Jupiter associated with the Great Red Spot are close to 400 mph. Here's a few cool pics of earth winds ...no fire yet but that lightning is getting kinda sparky.

I ended up having Chick-fil-a nuggets and a cherry Coke.
|
I don't think you guys were making fun of me with the hungry & eating comments ...were you? :( In any case, yesterday I ate my liverwurst club before remembering I was supposed to take a photo of it and post here ...so I mentioned that oversight at my tech review meeting with out aerospace customer from California since it seemed at least as important as the next mission to Mars.
Today for lunch I had salmon and crab bisque, a light creamy tomato based soup with a lot of crab chunks, which was voted as "looks and smells great" by everyone at our table and it did taste good; plus the hot roast beef sandwich on a nice crusty roll cut into three pieces with melted provolone on the roll, I added plenty of horseradish and then poured the au jus all over it, and three 23 oz. glasses of Sam Adams lager to wet my whistle. I have to cut back a little over this holiday weekend to make up for the abuse. |
I'll take over the abusing for you this holiday weekend.
|
Good grab, Eso. The baton is in your hands. I know you'll do us proud.
Just before I came back to this thread a minute ago, I was looking up a local source for 1/6 kegs to see which one I'm buying later today. Exton Beverage FTW!!! |
Holiday weekends can be fun.

Stop.
Drop. Shut em down open up shop. |
Running for the hills
With someone I really love And then we'll lay down. Have you had breakfast? Can we progress beyond food? I love to eat, too. |
I hope you guys are having a great time!
Your words reminded me of this song by Kate Bush that I just love, and since this is "longest" I'll put the whole thing here: Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) "If I only could, I'd be running up that hill. If I only could, I'd be running up that hill." It doesn't hurt me. Do you want to feel how it feels? Do you want to know that it doesn't hurt me? Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making? You, it's you and me. And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, Be running up that building. If I only could, oh... You don't want to hurt me, But see how deep the bullet lies. Unaware I'm tearing you asunder. Ooh, there is thunder in our hearts. Is there so much hate for the ones we love? Tell me, we both matter, don't we? You, it's you and me. It's you and me won't be unhappy. And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, Be running up that building, Say, if I only could, oh... You, It's you and me, It's you and me won't be unhappy. "C'mon, baby, c'mon darling, Let me steal this moment from you now. C'mon, angel, c'mon, c'mon, darling, Let's exchange the experience, oh..." And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, With no problems. And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, With no problems. And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, With no problems. If I only could Be running up that hill With no problems... "If I only could, I'd be running up that hill. If I only could, I'd be running up that hill." |

Who surfed the world's longest wave?
A mighty wave known as the Pororoca rolls up the Amazon, and other surrounding rivers, in Brazil. It is caused by the tides of the Atlantic Ocean, nearly 200 miles away. This wave is at it's strongest in March and April and attracts world class surfers for competition. The record that we could find for surfing the longest distance on the Pororoca was set by Picuruta Salazar of Brazil, who in 2003 managed to ride the wave for 37 minutes and travel 12.5 kilometers. |

It behooves one, to keep a spare singularity,
someplace handy. |
Don't they say "big hands, big singularity"?
Who has the world's longest hands? When it comes to long hands you'd have to travel to The UK to see them. to break the record for the world's longest hands measure from your wrist to the tip of your middle finger. If it measures more than 10.59 inches or 26.9 cm then you can replace Hussain Bisad and claim the world's longest hands. Hussain Bisad, originally born in Somalia, is 7 feet 8.9 inches tall making him the second tallest living person in the world. |
Where's the pic?
|
couldnt find a pic of the hands, but heres the fellow.

thanks for stepping up with the pic, SS.
I almost posted pics but I was torn between always liking to post interesting pics (well, intersting to me, anyway, and hopefully to some more of us here) and just being more verbal, so this time I let my left brain get the best of me and just went with the words...maybe I should wack the left side of my head a few times to make up for it. Anyway, now that I'm on a roll with these few words and, in any case, this is the "longest" thread, I'll add this little comparison of left/right brain characteristics: LEFT RIGHT logical random sequential intuitive rational holistic analytical synthesizing objective subjective looks at parts looks at wholes ...and then just this weekend I read about a woman who had a stroke and found "A Superhighway to Bliss" as the story in the NY Times was titled. I quote them here, but without the quote marks: Jill Bolte Taylor was a neuroscientist working at Harvard’s brain research center when she experienced nirvana. Dr. Taylor says the right, creative lobe can be used to foster contentment. But she did it by having a stroke. On Dec. 10, 1996, Dr. Taylor, then 37, woke up in her apartment near Boston with a piercing pain behind her eye. A blood vessel in her brain had popped. Within minutes, her left lobe — the source of ego, analysis, judgment and context — began to fail her. Oddly, it felt great. The incessant chatter that normally filled her mind disappeared. Her everyday worries — about a brother with schizophrenia and her high-powered job — untethered themselves from her and slid away. Her perceptions changed, too. She could see that the atoms and molecules making up her body blended with the space around her; the whole world and the creatures in it were all part of the same magnificent field of shimmering energy. “My perception of physical boundaries was no longer limited to where my skin met air,” she has written in her memoir, “My Stroke of Insight,” which was just published by Viking. After experiencing intense pain, she said, her body disconnected from her mind. “I felt like a genie liberated from its bottle,” she wrote in her book. “The energy of my spirit seemed to flow like a great whale gliding through a sea of silent euphoria.” ...well, you get the idea. Here's a picture of her and she seems happy http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...in_span600.jpg |

N/p BadNick.
i usually have the same problem as you, always wanting to find interesting pictures instead of just the norm. But this time i just went for the most interesting one i could find. Which happened to be him dancing with a flag strolling down the road. i guess im right minded/brained..whatever. her experience sounds more like an LSD trip than a stroke. |

I still believe there is a lot to be said for just jumping into the pool of love and see if you sink or swim or how long you stay in the wetness.
I couldn't find a more interesting picture of a "pool of love" ...other than the good pic in my brain....so this is one I found, at least the titles seem appropriate to me http://www.musix-online.de/images/disc-cover.jpg |
