Yeah but it'll take the opposite of world peace to achieve it. It worked for both of world wars but it wasn't enough thou

How do you think world peace oughta be achieved?

Annihilate everyone, except for the list of people who I genuinely like and maybe puppy or two...

(it'd be a very short list, but world peace would achieved)

and since Charlatan's question got ignored...

Have you ever shopped in a five and dime... (I have, Woolworth's but nothing was ever five or ten cents..)

Crap I forgot a question....

You're asked to be a tourguide of your fine city... The person that you are showing around, has never been to your city before, in fact, has never been to earth before, but they do speak and understand your language... What are some things you'd show them about your city, and about earth... (no five word answers here please...be creative)

My city.... hmm. I barely know it myself, so I'd show them Old Town Alexandria and point out the history of how it played a vital role in the forming of our government. From there, you can see the Washington Monument and capital, so I wouldn't need to actually go into DC.

Earth, I'd take them to Shackleford Banks in North Carolina to show that we do have the ability to preserve an eco-system instead of building 20 story resort hotels. Then I'd take them to Myrtle Beach to show them the opposite of the spectrum - how greed and sex sell so well and make a naturally beautiful area the nation's white trash ashtray.

How do you react when someone breaks up with you? (i.e. flash of anger then sadness, etc..)

I get very sad and cry for a long time. The really deep, full body sobs to be honest. Then rip-roaring-I'm-going-to-rip-your-balls-off angry. Then I squelch that and go back to being sad. Then I journal or talk it out. Then I take a deep breath and keep putting one foot in front of the other. and eat sushi and drink beer with my girlfriends.

along the same lines...
How did the last breakup you had go? Was it a blow up, freeze out, or mutual walk-away?

edit for my dang spelling AGAIN!

The fella in question rated a mention in the 50 boyfriends worse than yours thread-- let's just say my heart got ripped out of my chest, broken into a bazillion tiny pieces and tossed in the ocean... The breakup itself was quiet... But I should have suffocated him, it would have been good therapy...

I usually just hide it away from people. I don't like to show those emotions, so I usually act normal around everyone; like I didn't care too much. I usually try to be alone as much as possible, and do physical activity. Lets me get rid of stress and get my mind off things. I used to get really angry, but I have learned that that is stupid so now I try not to let that happen. I don't like to talk to people about it though, I like to keep it to myself. I have to cut off all contact with the thing that caused the heartbreak too.

I didn't really listen to the radio until around the age of 12 when a friend introduced me to Led Zeppelin. After that, I listened exclusively to Q107, a classic rock station. Over my teen years and 20's I listened to that and other rock stations. A couple of years ago though, I reached my breaking point with classic rock. I just don't need to hear Supertramp or Heart ever again. Now, besides standup comedy stations on the internet, I listen to CBC public radio and classical with occasional forays into alt-rock.

Do you know anyone who as ever appeared on American Idol?

Coffee, I hate tea. I only drank it twice, the first time, my grandmother took a pot of tea and put it in the fridge, few hours later, she put a whole wack of sugar in it and I tried it and it just absolutely taste horrible but I didn't tell her. The second time, was actually 2 weeks ago when I was hanging out with my classmates and it taste not good, not bad.

Hmm, that's kinda hard to say, since I don't really put much value in possessions. They are just things. That being said, I was really pissed, and still am kinda bitter, about breaking my favorite surfboard. Split the damn thing in half. That thing rode like butter. Sure it was a little old and starting to yellow, but I preferred to think of it as "broken in."

We made a video of our newborn son on his first day home from the hospital (4 days old). He was just lying on the bed, completely calm, looking beautiful and fragile. Watching the video was almost a hypnotic experience. Somehow, the file has slipped away. We kept it on our camera for almost a year, but must have never saved it onto the computer. Losing it is a real shame

Have you ever hand crafted something that you're particularly proud of?

Back when I flirted with a possible career in electronics in the late 90s, I built a digital clock out of every part and wire and microchip in my tool box for a class project. I had a partner, but he wasn't much help. I spent a whole week on that thing, and even stayed after class each day to work on it. What I found odd was that the extra hour after class wasn't very productive. Anyway, we (meaning me) finished on time, and got an A. The coolest part of that project was that the counter starts at 00 when it's reset. I had trouble getting to skip 00:00 and go straight to 01:00 (for 1pm or 1am). So I rewired it to 24 time, which made 00:00 become midnight, and got extra credit for it!. It was the only 24 clock in the class.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

My favorite childhood memory is when I got my first dog. I was so excited and she was so cute. My mom was not happy about getting a dog. So my dad snuck me out to get one while she was at work. My mom came in the door and looked at the puppy and groaned. The puppy peed on the floor and wagged its tail. I'm lucky I got to keep her.

i had 4 trips to australia (36 hours round trip x 4 = 144 hours)
5 trips to the UK (12 hours round trip x 5 = 60 hours)
20 trips to Chicago (6 hours round trip x 20 = 120 hours)
10 trips to DC (2 hours round trip x 10 = 20)

344 hours divided by 24 hours in a day = a little over 14 days...

so basically i spent 2 solid weeks on a plane... and that doesn't include the hours upon hours upon hours of waiting inthe airport...

2003, according to my expense records had 42 round trip flights to chicago

What's the longest plane trip you've been on
