I Want My CBC
I don't have cable, but I somehow managed to get a series of channels ABC, NBC, Global, MuchMusic, Discovery, then TBS, HGTV, basically channels 55-65. My wife just found that we were able to get these channels if we watched TV through our VCR.
Anyway, while the free cable is nice, especially for the sports, I miss the CBC. Yes, I know. I can't believe I'm saying that. But it is true. I am sick of ATV and Global news... They drive me crazy. But my question is, why can't I get the CBC? Even without the cable, just on regular TV I can't get it. But as a Canadian tax paying citizen, shouldn't I be getting it? Shouldn't I always have access to CBC television? Shouldn't there be like an automatic reception of CBC in every Canadian household? I know. That does sound a bit Communistic, doesn't it? But I want it! I want my CBC. I want my CBCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCcccccccccccc |

yeah, try bunny ears.
cool how you can get all of those other channels. I wonder why |
with bunny ears i can receive quite clearly all the below (including CBC):
CBC CTV Global including CHCH Hamilton City-TV CFMT CKVR Barrie (A Channel now) TVO PBS NBC ABC CBS PBS and Channel 49 in Rochester. Not always the same clarity, but a damn good haul for free. I wonder if this will last once digital signals are mandated. |
Rabitt Ears or better yet, a big ass antenna with a rotor to turn it into the signal.
I get the same channels as Leto (plus SunTV - formerly TorontoOne) without cable and can even get a very snowy WB out of Buffalo (or somewhere down there). |
