Continental defence
I'm getting rather worried.
http://aclunc.org/pressrel/041012-nofly.html The USA now apparently has a 80,000 person "no-fly" list. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jim-mo...d_b_13272.html If Jim Moore is to be believed, he's on the list. Possibly because he wrote a book critical of the Bush administration. There is no way to determine how you got on the list. There is no way you can get yourself off the list. If you are on the list, you have become a second class citizen with no appeal. 80,000 people are on this list. A President who holds that congress and the courts can place no restrictions on his acts, so long as he claims they are in defence of the nation. A President above the law. Oh, and a prominant democractic senator was also on the list: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Aug19.html I don't trust the American government. Should Canada start plans to defend itself, without assuming American defensive aid? It's crazy, I know... ~_~ |
Truly Ironic
The American Government has become that which it most fears in other nations, that it has become a rogue nation. A nation that does whatever it wants to in protection of its borders and its citizens' way-of-life, even if that extends beyond its own borders and penalizes its own citizens for excercising their human rights.
I remember about a year ago when an FBI spokeperson was defending the detention of certain individuals who were changing flights in an American airport. These people were flying from one continent to another, and their destination was not even in the US, but once they were on American soil, they were detained for sevreal days, had their possessions searched and seized, and were deported back to their country of origin. No charges were ever laid and no explanation givien. In commenting on this, the FBI said that the only gaurantee that any non-American has once they are on American soil is that they will not be subjected to gross physcial abuse. Anything else is sanctioned by the administration. In essence, you have NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER even if you're simply changing flights. So, I do not travel to the states, I so not buy American products when I can help it, and I try not to support the American economy in any way. The truly unfortunate thing is that I know many American citizens and I really like all of them. But the American machine is out of control, and the entire world is hostage to this lone super power. Peace, Pierre |
And people gasp in amazement when Canadians boo Americans at the world junior tournament
Yes, they're are biggest trading partners... but it doesn't change the fact that their government is out of control... The whole world sees it, but they have the blinders on. |
This is the number one reason why we should beef up our military.
We can never out spend the US in an arms race, but that isn't the point. Protecting our sovreinty in the north and preparing to defend against incursions seeking to take our natural resources are solid reasons (granted we already rolled over on oil when we signed NAFTA but make no mistake, water will be the next thing the US comes calling for and if we don't give them what they want, they could just take it). |

As for the defence of Canada, the yanks seem to think it would be a cakewalk to take over Canada, I guess they figure we'll roll over and die or something, but they don't seem to understand the guerilla war that would ensue, they always forget about the guerilla war. |
I'd found the Kamloops chapter of la resistance
|
I'll start the Ottawa Valley chapter.
|
i'll bring the pot,and we won't need to worry about anything........
yeah....that's it. |

Calgary Chapter
Okay, the Calgary chapter will be run out of my basement grow-op, unless the FBI are monitoring this channel in which case, um, well, what the hell was I saying? Oh yeah, and another thing...
Um. Peace, Pierre |
And gentlemen, I will command all of the TFP sleeper cells.
You guys do realize that by my posting this, we are all going to get on the list. I don't think you can even use the tern "Sleeper Cell" without the NSA performing a cavity search on your family pet. Remember, they can't survive in the cold; All we have to do is take care of the folks in North Dakota. |
I'd assume people would form resistances. For the most part they are ineffective in actually defending or liberating territory without outside intervention.
It can be taken as a given that Canada cannot generate a conventional military force that is capable of defending itself against an American military attack. |

The world knows how to win a war against the US: Officially "give up" hours into the fight, and then proceed to inflict such heavy casualties in a guerrila war that they lose the will to fight. Of course, we need media support; we must ensure that all attacks that the US undertakes are broadcast via international news agencies. We must then claim that they slaughtered innocent people during these attacks. Finally, we coerce the opposing political party with promises of international trade and other accords so that they tear each other apart using their own media. What is so hard about that? I can create an ambush that could literally decimate an american convoy. That is by myself. I can teach that tactic to dozens of young men, while telling them that I will bring the NHL back to its original glory, give them good beer and waving flags. Please don't underestimate the ferocity of your fellow countymen. |
Agreed BigBen. I think the average countryman would stand up for Canada. If USA decided to take Canada by force at anytime I imagine ordinary people would stand up and fight.
|
I'm willing to give aid and comfort to the enemy. The least I can do is send a regular supply of muchies to Flyman. :)

Do you guys have an exit strategy? What about my post above? Does that sound reasonable? :icare: |

We won't defeat you in a war, we will defeat you like you have always been defeated; Politically, culturally, and by broadcasting it on the 6 o'clock news. If we convince you to tear yourself apart, do we still win? :D

Also, to occupy Canada would take more troops than the USA could possibly muster... to control the population would be impossible. They can't even control a country that's smaller than ONE of our provinces. Imagine what it would be like if they had to fight someone who looked exactly like them, instead of being able to profile just arabs, they'd be profiling caucasians... Imagine how upset the WASPs will be when THEY are added to the no-fly list |

stockwell day is a dirty word... go wash your mouth out with soap |
Stephen isn't more American at all... he is just boring. I just read an article that described him as the Prime Minister for the Tim Horton's set. He is resolute in his middle class nature.
With the exception of Joe Clark, he is the most average of Prime Ministers. Joe Clark? Now there's some beefcake. http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/departm...s/img60-tn.gif |
