The beach seems to be a lake beach, as I can't discern any tidal marks. So I would hazard a guess that it is on the Great Lakes somewhere.

Is it on or near the Leslie Street Spit?

I thought the Flatiron building was in NYC and the building above is in Toronto and is actually the Gooderham and Worts building.

Which by the way, pre-dates the flatiron building in NYC.

It think you may be right, although when you say "the" Flatiron Building you could be refereing to the iconic structure in NYC. I thought that the term flatiron, generically referred to all wedge shaped buildings such as these.

Nice try, but no. I know it's hard to tell from that picture, but those are trees about twelve feet tall. Blueberries grow low to the ground (except for high bush berries), but you're right in that we have lots of them in Nova Scotia.

Actually this windfarm sprung up on Wolfe Island between visits to Kingston for me. One year, nothing, a couple of years later... over 80 turbines...

This happened to me too. And I'm from Kingston. I had no idea they were building them. Apparently some farmers are getting some decent annual coin from them.

there was an article in the Groan & Wail about this windfarm a few days ago; apparently the naturalists are concerned cause of the high numbers of bats and migratory birds getting whacked by the blades!

I was in Kingston a few weeks ago and managed to make it to Ft Henry for its opening day. Visited some restuarants that I didn't get to eat at while a poor student (Chez Piggy and Pan Chancho) and saw that Murphy's Seafood is gone!

I may have posted this somewhere in the previous 99 pages, but I haven't been keeping track. This should be a piece of cake for you Kingston boys:
