Daval 03-11-2007 08:32 AM

inside a movie theatre watching '300' ?

Bossnass 03-11-2007 02:34 PM

Well, those are scenes from Underworld Evolution, which was filmed in Vancouver, but also Britannia Beach. So I'm guessing the horses, snow, and fire put it outside at Britannia Beach.

JJRousseau 03-12-2007 08:56 AM

Close, bossnass. Right movie but wrong location. That part was filmed up on Mt Seymour. They built the set and were half way thru shooting when it snowed a huge dump. They had to bring in bobcats to dig out the snow.

Your game, bossnass.

Bossnass 03-12-2007 08:16 PM

Since I wasn't actually correct and since I'm way busy right now, I'll have to pass my turn.

We've been out on the West side of the country for so long, so here's one from the Atlantic Coast:

Lucifer 03-14-2007 11:29 AM

Sticky 03-14-2007 01:09 PM

The Narrows?

Lucifer 03-14-2007 01:26 PM

Yeah, I'll accept The Narrows, that was a pretty easy one. I'm going on a roadtrip this weekend out to the boonies, so I should get some harder ones.

Sticky 03-14-2007 02:01 PM

Lucifer, where is it exactly?

This may be easy

Sticky, that is The Narrows, which is the entrance to St. John's harbour, quite possibly the finest (and narrowest) harbour in North America. I was standing on The Battery when I took that shot looking toward Fort Amherst.

Here are some other shots:

thats the battery on the left of the narrows where the little buildings are, and Cabot Tower is up on top of the Battery where Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal. the battery is the most primo real estate in all of St. John's. It used to be (and still is in some places) old fish shacks and stages, but the land they sit on is selling for upwards of $500K.

These are two shots from up on top of Signal Hill beside Cabot Tower, looking across the narrows to Fort Amherst.

It is 100% from Expo 67 and I am sure you are right - that it was the U.S. Pavillion at Expo 67.

I seem to recall that there was a fire in it during the '70's and it sat vacant for years.... (i will wikipaeda it) but now it seems to be in good use.

yep... The dome was architected by Buckminster Fuller... Interesting that the acrylic panels were burned in the fire, and have not been replaced...
