The "lighthouse" at Confederation Basin? I don't know it's name. Kingston, of course.

I had to go way back to post #83 by Feelgood to get this one.
It's the SS Moyie in Kaslo, BC. I'd say it's almost the exact same design as the SS Klondike up in Whitehorse. Cool!

Nope. Interesting guess, but much older than that. Sort of.

I see it's a long house now... Is it the one in northern Ontario where all those French monks were massacred?
St. Marie or something like that?

Ste Marie Among the Hurons...
The longhouse. (Maybe?) If not that, then I go with Crawford Lake in Mississauga. Ya, I think it's more likely to be Crawford Lake, as I think I see the Lacrosse field beside the longhouse. Last edited by Leto; 12-21-2006 at 09:55 AM.. |

Leto takes it! It's the longhouse in the reconstructed Huron/Wendat village at Crawford Lake in Southern Ontario.
It's not in Mississauga though. Its farther west towards Hamilton, south of Guelph. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawfor...servation_Area

Yes, I was half awake when I wrote that... Northern is a bit of an exaggeration. I was thinking Georgian Bay and to a Toronto boy anything north of Steeles is Northern Ontario.

Obviously, it's a railway bridge. The photo was taken by yours truly in 2001. It is a "Through Truss" type railway bridge of which there are probably thousands in Canada. So, it would be pretty hard to peg unless you've been there, as I have. Never the less, (here's a clue).... There is a geographical significance to this particular railway bridge. Just a co-incidence. The fact that the photo was taken in the first week of October of 2001 is relevant as to WHERE the photo could have been taken. Hint, it sure wasn't Toronto... |
