Today I met the Premier of PEI
Pat Binns, the Premier of Prince Edward Island came into the office where I work today. I didn't talk to him, per se, but it was nice to see him. I suppose he's the closest thing we get to a celebrity here on PEI. So that was pretty cool. Wait. If I only saw the Premier, but didn't go up to him and say hi, does that mean I officially met him?
Anyone else meet their Premier? or a previous one?

I met Bill Davis when I was in Scouts. I was chosen out of all the Scouts in Metro Toronto to be the one to represent the area at a big meeting at Queen's Park (the seat of our provincial government).
There were Scouts from all over Ontario there representing the various districts. We had lunch with our MPs, were toured about, met with Bill and toured Toronto (the latter being a cool thing to most of the guys as they were from such far flung places as Sault Ste. Marie, Ottawa, Kenora, etc.). Bill was a nice enough fellow.

My mom worked in Daniel Johnson's office and I saw him all the time when I went to see her. Pretty normal guy, nothing exceptional about him. Of course, I was young and didn't care much for politics...

Was at a bbq function that had Mike Harris (former Ontario Tory leader) and Preston Manning in attendance as well as Grant Hill. (former Reform health critic and deputy opposition leader) Nice people, very gracious. Was expecting Deborah Grey to show up but she never did. Food and booze were good not to mention free. (oh oh,...some one's gonna ride me cause taxpayers money was used to fill my tummy) Oh well,...you get what you can while you can.

Interesting. Here's a question to keep this thread going, should no one else have met their premier...
Without using Google or any search engine, lets see if we can't name all the premiers (first and last names, please) of all the provinces and territories of Canada. Here's what I know. PEI - Pat Binns NS - John Hamm NB - NFLD - PQ - Jean Charest ON - Dalton McGuinty MB - SK - AB - Ralph Klein BV - Gordon Campbell Yk - NWT - NVT - Can you guess the rest???

Premier Ralph Klein came to High River in May or June because of flooding.
He conviently picked a day where I was at work, to avoid me making a scene...and throwing my 20 year old social studies text with missing pages at him. *grumbles* |

I met the Mulronney's once in 1986. It was at the Hungarian ball at the QM in Montreal and I was the escort for my Hungarian Debutante girlfriend. Brian, tapped my shoulder to cut in and left me standing with Mila.
I did what any gentlemen would have done. Ok, Ok...I just danced a waltz with her. -bear

You should put that in "Reveal the Posters Deepest Darkest Secret". Wait. I have to post something first...
Maybe in the shower this morning I was thinking about sex and that's how Gary Doers name came up...

I was caddying for my dad, at Tam'o'shanter golf course (agincourt/scarborough) when he met Bill Davis.
I met Pierre Trudeau while skiing at Mt Orford, in Feb 1978 (grade 13 ski trip) on the slopes. I broke my leg the next day. I think it was more to do with the tequila shooters that night... |
