CANADA DAY!!!

So tomorrow is Canada Day. Canada will celebrate its 138th birthday. I will be checking out the festivities in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, which is purported to have some excellent pyrotechnical displays. I might spend the day golfing, or at the beach, with my wife and daughter.

I love Canada Day. It's always a good time. So, Canadians, where in our home and native land will you be spending your Canada Day? What are your plans?

I aint got much planned, Actually nothing really..All my friends are going out of town..All my money is going towards rent..So i might hit up the clubs downtown with the couple of friends that are still in town.

Happy Birthday Canada! :D

I just realized it was tomorrow when my wife reminded me that tomorrow is a holiday...

I don't have any solid plans yet but they will likely include going down to the waterfront to take in the fireworks.

The rest of the day I am pretty sure we are just going to hang out, maybe go for a bike ride if the smog isn't too thick.

I will spend the morning on lake St-Louis fishing, and then the night at the local park.

Happy Birthday Canada!!!!!!

I missed the Canada Day party out here in Taiwan, it was on the 25th. I was in Hong Kong unfortunetly.
I'll probably go drinking tomorrow, same thing I do every friday night..

FOOTBALL!!!!!!!

Actually, some of my family are going to the CFL game between Calgary and Toronto. I'll probably go out with some friends but I can't stay out too late since I gotta work on Saturday morning

Are there Happy Canada Day greeting cards? My wife's birthday is July 1, but I can never find a Happy Canada Day card down here in Connecticut.

Charlatan 06-30-2005 07:19 AM

I suppose if you looked for them you could find them but it isn't like we go around giving Happy Canada Day card... do you folks do that on July 4th?

Redlemon 06-30-2005 07:24 AM

Folks in general? No. But Hallmark has a card for everything.

streak_56 06-30-2005 07:24 AM

Spending the day with my girlfriend, I have no idea what we are doing. Might go get some fireworks and burn myself again.

You'd be surprised what they make greeting cards for.

Notably, Hallmark has e-cards for BOTH Canada Day and Fourth of July.

I think I'll go walkies down to the Grand River and take in the fireworks - sit on the bank and watch the show.

will attend the Canada Day Parade that winds its way through East York, and then our street is holding BBQ street party, which will culminate in fireworks. All of my neighbours and I collected $25 each for BBQ food (pulled pork, burgers) and for fireworks ($400 worth and counting).

always a good party that goes on. last year we brought in the sunrise of July 2...

I will be holding my annual Canada Day BarBQ Celebration here in the DC area with some close friends...Canadians, Americans and others alike.

I've got my red stripe bordered maple leaf blowing over top of the stoop as we speak to mark the location and reason for the festivities.

To be honest I am also very much looking forward to watching the 4th of July spectacular from the Canadian Embassy on Monday. It's supposed to be one of the best places in town to catch the goings on.

It's good to have an old high school buddy currently with the Canadian Foriegn Service.

I'm gonna be heading down to the park to check out the festivities with my girlfriend, then relax until the fireworks tonight, then try to find a party and get DRUNK!

Anybody else feel like we were just celebrating 125 a couple of years ago?

splck 07-05-2005 01:47 PM

I spent the day sockeye fishing, crabbing, beer drinking, and pot smoking off the West coast of Vancouver Island. All had a good time...except for the fish and crabs, their day kinda sucked.. ;)
