Clothing for chickens A range of fashion clothing for chickens has been launched by a group of designers working in Austria and Japan. Austrian Edgar Honetschlaeger said he decided to work with the Japanese on the project because he hoped to make the chicken label clothing essential. He said "It's something that you don't really need but everyone wants to have anyway". The idea has already taken off after the designers staged a fashion show that is now touring the world. Several farmers have already had chicken suits with the name of their farm ordered and many advertisers have enquired about the possibility of having sponsored suits promoting everything from KFC to chicken soup. The chicken suits come in various sizes, and had their first presentation in the Austrian pavilion of the World exhibition in Nagoya, Japan, where 20 chickens paraded a catwalk with Mozart music playing in the background. The chicken suit collection will continue its world-wide tour with shows planned in Tokyo, Paris, Mexico City and Vienna. Source: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1417224.html

What the cluck are you talking about? This is real - why? The rich don't have enough driving vehicles they don't need and living in price gouged homes? It's frigging chickens. Dinner! We havn't gone too far w/the cats and dogs we already have? What's next - learning what makes the cockroach tick?

heh william, i think it's stupid to put clothes on a chicken, too. totally.
but this entertained me for the morning, making my mock up VOGUE cover. i put toddler size 2 shorts with a hole cut for a tail on my dog once, but after i snapped a couple pics i promptly removed them, cuz i mean.... like how is he suppose to poo & pee with shorts on?!! just like that chicken outfit - impractical & ridiculous.

When I was a little kid, we took a family vacation to New Orleans. On the way there we stopped at a tacky roadside tourist shop that had several chickens in a big cage made to look like a basketball court. For a quarter you could watch them run around pecking at a foam ball. When they put the ball through the hoop, a few kernels of corn would drop into a tray. End of show.
At least these present-day chickens are getting designer clothes, media attention, and a chance to travel the world. |
