How many different email addresses do you have?

What do you use them for?

I have at least 10 email addresses.
- One is my work address.
- Another is a lifetime email address that I use as a forwarding address to my current address.
- I use another for signup for crap on the internet so that it gets the spam instead of my other addresses.
- I have several others for anonimity purposes.
- Others I have setup for specific purposes like a class project a long time ago. I know use this email for completely different purposes now (my TFP email address).

I am just always amazed at people who have only one email address. I can't see my you would not have more than one.

I am guessing that people on TFP are similar to me and have several addresses and that the people who have only one address don't know what TFP or a forum is and probably have an @aol.com address.

This pole will help us determine this.

Interesting. There four votes at this point and no comments.

Until now, I hadn't really counted my email accounts. I originally started with my main one and one web-based account. Over time I have added others included 2 extras through my ISP.

My main account is used only when I am dealing with friends, family and very specific businesses. I tend to use the web-based ones when I have to give an email address to a web-site that I don't do business with. I have used similar criteria for using my others. For example, I have one that I use with all businesses that I use for online ordering. The amazing thing is that one gets the least spam.

I think that as far back as I can remember I always had more than one (obviously of my first two I got one before the other, but not much before).

I guess a few other questions that come up are:
- Are they all setup up with different info (name, address,...) or do some have the same info?
- Do you use the same passwords or do each have different passwords?
- How do you remember the different passwords?

I only have 6, that I can remember. I've set up and deleted so many Yahoo accounts, I can't keep track. Those are all for internet sign-up crap. Once all the mortgage and donkey pr0n fills my inbox, I close the account.

Other than that, 1 for work, 1 for lifetime forwarding from my university, and a couple hotmail accounts.

I have countless e-mail addresses sitting around, most of which are probably deleted off their respective sites by now. So, really, I have 2 - one that I use when I want to give my e-mail address, and one that I use when I don't. I keep a tight lock on my e-mail so I get no spam and I only check the other one every month or so to clear it out and keep it active,

I have 4. My personal one that I have only shared with friends. My old one that got over run with spam that I rarely use. And 2 I set up for future use, in case the dreaded spam monsters get hold of my main email addy.

I have two. But I only use one. The other one alpha phi set up for me but spelled atropos wrong and I haven't changed it. So I don't use it. I'm just used to the one I have now.

I have 6 e-mail addresses, 1 for work, 1 which just forwards my e-mails, 1 from my isp, 2 for junk mail, and 1 which is not in use but i keep active as a spare.

I only check 3 of these accounts on a regular basis

1 - that i check all the time, no spam, just emails from a few people and such.
2 - 2 yahoo accts, used to use often, now just check it enough so it doesn't get cancelled.
3 - a hotmail account that i use with MSN Messenger.

--A fake Excite one that I use to write my ex-girlfriend on. I have pretended to be an old friend of hers for years, and I use it to check up on her...

Far too many. I'm a sys admin so I have many at work. I also have my own mail server at home and have many set up there to keep accounts straight. Easy to delete when the spam gets too overwhelming.

i have more than 10. i registered a domain to use just for e-mail. whenever i sign up for something and i need to guve an e-mail address i create an address just for that. for example staples@ or bestbuy@. that way i can track what's being done with an address by vendor.
