Swear to it in court and let's launch a class-action. There's gotta be at least a box of Tim-Bits in it for everyone.

I am also on a multi-year loosing streak.

And, no, I did not blow anything up in TO.

Another live un-rolling....

Nope...nothing new in my world

highthief 04-06-2006 03:51 AM

I've been going to Timothy's for the last week or so. My Tim's dissapointments have driven me away.

Sticky 04-06-2006 05:07 AM

I always wondered how a place can open up and call itself Timothy's.
I originally thought that is was a division of Tim's but someone told me that I was wrong.

Why didn't Tim's sue?

maleficent 04-06-2006 05:11 AM

Timothy's has been a gourmet coffee chain (before starbucks was on every street corner) in the states for years... starbucks seems to have replaced most of 'em...

Wasn't it Albert Einstein who said the defintion of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

maybe it's time to switch to a different coffee place :D

Charlatan 04-06-2006 05:53 AM

I've switched to beer...

I went to my neighbourhood drive thru this morning (why I still go to the local Tims is beyond me, they are rude, surly, and they constantly fuck up my order) and they put sugar in my coffee! 'Course I didn't notice this until I was on the TCH, so when I got to where I was going, I poured the offending coffee out on the ground, and rolled up the rim. DING! Free coffee! Now with any kind of luck that the universe is going my way today, this one will roll up to show a plasma tv and later I can post in the "Ding! got some thread"...

Daval 04-07-2006 05:38 AM

I've been on an extended dry spell. I'm only at 4 or 5 wins this round, normally I end the campaign with around a dozen or so. I've never won anything larger than a coffee

Leto 04-07-2006 07:51 AM

Ding! free coffee this morning. Unfortunately, it was the cup that I purchased for my colleague...

Tried the Caramel chocolate doughnut as well. The caramel is a little bit sweet. I think it would be better if the caramel was drizzled on top of the chocolate, and there was cream puff filling....

Lucifer 04-07-2006 08:53 AM

I've been wanting to try that one, thanks for the review!

Gah! You're making my teeth hurt, just reading that.

I assumed it was Canadian - their central facilities are located in Toronto, and there are tons of them here.

I liek Timothy's far more than Starbucks or Second Cup - I have no idea why Starbucks thinks burning the coffee and charging a premium for the service makes good sense.

hehe. mine were aching too. mmmmmm doughnuts.

as far as Timothy's goes, I like their coffee, especially the strong. What i really don't like is that every time I come close to a Timothy's kiosk in a mall, all that I can smell is their hazelnut flavoured coffee. It's too overpowering and I end up just steering clear of them.

I agree... I really don't like Starbucks coffee. The coffee I like best is from the small Toronto chain called, The Roastery. They consistently make the best coffees and lattes (as far as I'm concerned).

Second Cup and Timothy's come second as I see them as pretty much the same thing. Year's ago I used to think Timothy's was just a fancy Tim Horton's (much like Richard D ice cream vs. Dicky Dee).

splck 04-12-2006 09:26 PM

1st win in two years....a cup of coffee...and I don't even care for their coffee.

Oh well.

Sticky 04-17-2006 08:48 AM

the cups have dissapeared for the season anywhere around here.

streak_56 04-20-2006 06:54 AM

I hate roll up the rim to win.... I've bought 16 extra large hot chocolates and have won nothing, not even a donut. Last year was my record year... 17 times in a row. The guy I'm working with is on his 4th in a row. I need to start buying Large double creams.

According to the website: http://www.timothys.ca/Content/aboutUs.asp

Timothy's is Canadian. There is no mention of US operations.

I saw a sign out in far-South-Eastern Connecticut. Here's an article from 2004:
timhortons
Quote:

With an official grand opening ceremony today, Tim Hortons is celebrating the near completion of its conversion of 42 former Bess Eaton stores into the Tim Hortons concept. Within 8 weeks of acquiring these locations, the majority of Tim Hortons stores in Southern New England are already offering delicious homestyle soups and sandwiches, as well as Tim Hortons premium blend coffee, iced coffee and baked goods - made at each store, throughout the day. Governor Donald L. Carcieri is attending the ceremony at 10:00 am at the Tim Hortons at 2174 Plainfield Pike in Cranston, in order to welcome this new business to the state.

"I want to congratulate the entire Tim Hortons team on this achievement,” said Rhode Island Governor, Donald L. Carcieri. "I appreciate Tim Hortons commitment to growing their business here in Rhode Island. It’s good for the State and our economy. Most importantly, I want to applaud Tim Hortons strong belief in giving back to the communities where they operate. We will all benefit from their initiatives,” added Governor Carcieri.

For the entire day, all new Tim Hortons stores in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts are celebrating by donating 50 cents from every transaction to local Boys and Girls Clubs.

"One of our core values at Tim Hortons is to give back to the communities where we operate, particularly with a focus on children,” said Paul House, President & COO, Tim Hortons. "We also wanted to thank our customers today, so every participating store has been giving away prizes such as Shell Gift Cards, Tim Hortons coffee coupons, and even free Tim Hortons thermal mugs over the lunch hour. It’s an exciting day for everyone!”

The Tim Hortons chain, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is the largest coffee and fresh baked goods restaurant chain in Canada. Tim Hortons, which merged with Wendy’s International, Inc. in 1995, trades on the New York Stock Exchange (WEN). There are currently over 2,360 Tim Hortons restaurants in Canada and now 227 in the U.S., including 8 in Maine.
I was rushing, I didn't stop in.

Sticky 02-26-2007 10:17 AM

I saw my first Roll up the Rim commercial yesterday.

Spring is in the air.

Daval 02-26-2007 11:16 AM

Well, i got my first Roll up the rim this morning and so far I am 0 for 1. I'm drinking my second now but I'm a good hour away from finishing that one.

Biggest prize i've ever won is a donut.

Leto 02-26-2007 11:36 AM

It's that time of year already??

--hmmm is there a Timmy's in Jamaica? (March Break trip destination).

No Tim's here anymore... sadly I will not be able to lose at roll up the rim this year.

Leto 02-28-2007 03:20 AM

I wonder which Tims is the closest one to you, geographically. Would it be the one in Afghanistan?

Sticky 02-28-2007 08:45 AM

I bought a cup yesterday and lost again.

My streak continues

Daval 02-28-2007 09:25 AM

i'm 0 for 6 so far. darnit.

Bossnass 02-28-2007 01:30 PM

I'm 0/3 plus two years. Wife's co-worker won $1000 already.

Daval 02-28-2007 01:47 PM

already this year? you mean she won 500$ twice or there is a 1000 prize?

Maybe one of us should mail you one of our losing rims for a little slice of home for you

Bossnass 02-28-2007 07:14 PM

I assume it was one win, I don't know for sure. I asked if she won anything yet, she told me she hasn't had a tims for awhile, but a nurse that has been on her ward won $1000.

canuckguy 02-28-2007 07:27 PM

I go ever morning for me and a co-worker, i kept the spreadsheet from last year where at one point i was on a terrible 0/26 streak before FINALLY winning a effing donut. this year so far I am 1/3 with a free coffee this morning.

ooohhh sweet coffee.

Daval 03-01-2007 05:17 AM

actually, my bad, the prize is 1000$.

Demeter 03-01-2007 09:17 AM

Damn....0/2

m0rpheus 03-01-2007 02:06 PM

Sigh, 0/3. On the bright side a co-worker that I give a ride into work everyday has been buying my morning coffee so I may be losing but atleast I'm losing on his dime
