hey guys i was wondering if anybody knows where i can find absinthe over here? i know its off the banned list and now on the restriced list so i figured id have a go.

also, if you have drank it, how is the best way? i know the traditional way is with sugar and water but is there any other good combos?

i have found straight down the hatch is the best way .... however i have found that this methord has some of the strangest side effects, my old drummer used to do some pretty strange things whilst under the influence of absinth.....
one time he thought that his dolfin eveready tourch was a video camera and he was trying to film a band (motormoth) with it! when their manager asked him what he was doing he promptly tried to show her the footage on the back of the camera, later that night he disapeared........ we later found out that he had left the venue and next thing he knew he woke up in his own bed with a broken nose and his mum telling him that he had tried to pay the taxi driver with bottle caps and lollies (he had no idea where they came from) ......
so the moral of this story is ...... ...... well there is no moral just enjoy the stuff.
oh yea, you can get it from most bottle shops ....

nah, any good bottle shop should have absinthe. From memory burwood cellars on toorak rd has a variety of them, if you're in melbourne.

i have seen it in most larger sized bottle shops here in QLD. i know that the hard rock cafe in surfers stocks it .....
however the Absynth here in Aust. has not got much wormwood in it (the stuff that makes you halucinate) so ..... don't get me wrong it is still as full on as hell but not as full on as the stuff that you can get in the chech republic!

I Like to drink absynth either straight or mixed with lemonade. Alpha666 is right though, even though you get extreemly drunk i've personaly found that I don't really halucinate all that much, and I seem to come back down relitivly quickly unless I keep drinking.
