The Story behind your screen name

I am not sure this has be asked before, but I am sure it has... anyway, thought I would ask for the story behind your screen name. Why did you choose it? Some great story or just something you came up with without much thought.

Discuss.

rsmash 11-11-2004 11:15 PM

originally was "Smash". I was around 13 or 14 at the time, before I got my first internet connection (was using the BBS before)

And there was that IRC channel (music making related) with another "smash" hanging there.. So I changed for RealSmash :D and that lasted quite a while

Anyway, now I mostly use rsmash, the word Real being kinda dated now, in the same way as Terminator2000 would be.

My initials are RS of course. Even my friends call me RS sometimes.

Ahh I should find a new nick. But there are so much things I've done with that nick written on!

JJRousseau 11-12-2004 12:10 AM

Great topic. I have wondered about many of the names I see. I found TFP searching google for a specific philosophy topic. After reading a bit, I joined up and chose the name of a great philosopher. (Lao Tzu is too hard to pronounce)

Coppertop 11-12-2004 12:14 AM

This pretty much 'splains it:

bbbbbb555 11-12-2004 12:25 AM

my name started a long time on aim. i had the name racerxbob when i had aol, but then my parents cancelled that and i had to get a new name for aim. after trying tons of things i just ended up with bbbbbb555. my name starts with a B, and i like the number 5.

FngKestrel 11-12-2004 12:58 AM

Used to be Kestrel, based on the bird of prey. I like things that fly. :D Kestrel wasn't taken very often on boards, but often enough to be annoying. I ended up on yahoo with the username Kestrel with like a bunch of underscores in front AND behind the name.

Some time later, Coppertop and I were trying to think of clan names for Team Fortress (way back when) and Coppertop threw out the acronym FNG. I liked the acronym enough to put it at the front of Kestrel.

After adding that to my name, the best compliment I ever got in Team Fortress was some guy on the opposite team saying, "Dude, you don't play like an FNG."

:D

ShaniFaye 11-12-2004 04:04 AM

Shani is short for Shannon and my middle name and name I go by online is Faye (although its really spelled Fey but most people I've found say that as Fi so I spelled it the traditional way so there would be no question)

ShaniFaye is what my family called me when I was little

Sticky 11-12-2004 04:30 AM

Some time ago I had to build a website for a class. I did not know what to put up on the site so I made up Sticky The Stickman (or Sticky Stickman or Sticky) and the whole story behind him. Unfortunately all that I have left of the site is the following which I have in my profile.

Quote:

Isadore (Izzy) Stichman, born to Jewish European immigrants Yankel and Rivkeh Stichman, was to amount to nothing according to his childhood Yeshiva Rebbe. Growing up in Montreal, friends and strangers alike were always amused by the situations...

bendsley 11-12-2004 06:26 AM

Mine on here is basically my name. First Initial, Last name. A nickname that my friends call me, bendsley.

If I play online games, I use "cathederal" ( I know its not spelled like the church) or "corge"

tecoyah 11-12-2004 07:01 AM

Many years ago...I lived in Yosemite National Park. Much of the Employee Housing is named after Miwok Indian terms. After almost ten years there, and numerous positions, I was given a house to live in on the Ahwanee Meadow....the street name was Tecoyah Rd.....I found the translation of this term appealing (Valley of waving grasses) and decided to use it as my generic internet persona....as an added plus, it is unlikely to be taken when getting into new sites/mail centers.

monkeydriven 11-12-2004 07:08 AM

Pearl Jam's song 'God's Dice' includes the lyric "Monkeydriven, call this a living, hahaha"....hence Monkeydriven...

Eweser 11-12-2004 07:51 AM

I usually use AllSt896 because I was an All State softball player my senior year in high school, 1996, but when I came here I decided to create a new one. You always see User/Password and since I raise sheep I thought a play on User would be neat.

Rdr4evr 11-12-2004 01:00 PM

Rdr4evr = Raiders forever.........meaning Oakland Raiders (they are a NFL team for those that don't watch football)

1slOwCD8 11-12-2004 01:21 PM

Mine's fairly simple. I drive a pretty much stock Honda Accord. Its fairly slow, and CD is the name for the generation of my Accord.

KMA-628 11-12-2004 01:47 PM

KMA-628 is the old FCC callsign for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Similarly, KMA-367 is LAPD.

http://www.bittybar.com/pics/kma367.GIF

Not really used much these days, but if you drive around in L.A. and see "Los Angeles" on the top of a license plate frame and "KMA-628" on the bottom of the license plate frame, the person driving the car was usually a cop.

I took mine off my car in 1990 when criminals learned what it meant and started shooting at cars with KMA-628 or KMA-367.

Clark 11-12-2004 02:16 PM

I used to have a radio show (colloge) where I used the name Clark.

So I still use it.

five 11-12-2004 02:42 PM

5 is my fav. #. A lot of things in my life have had something to do with 5 and I really like my sister and her fav. # is 5 too!

Love you Jen!

CityOfAngels 11-12-2004 03:53 PM

I consider this site to be my getaway from everyone who knows me personally, so I don't use the same screenname I use for, say, AIM or other things where people who know me personally can get ahold of me. I do this so no one can do a google search for my AIM name and find out whether or not I had sex the other night. ;)

Anyways, my all-time favorite song is "Under the Bridge" from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Whenever I think of that song, the first verse pops up in my head:
"Sometimes I feel
Like I don’t have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The City of Angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry"
The reason why this stands out to me is because whenever I'm extremely depressed, or even angry, I'll take a walk outside for a few hours. While I'm walking, I'm usually feeling extremely lonely, just thinking to myself about failed love, my living conditions, and about my regrets. I often think, "Hey, at least I still live in L.A. At least I can walk these streets as long as I want; these streets never fall out of love with me; they never make me feel like I'm an outcast in my own home; and they never constantly remind me of my own past. I can feel comfortable being alone with my only friend: L.A.

So, given that "Los Angeles" means "The Angels," and that most people translate it into "City of Angels," I chose "CityOfAngels" to be my screenname, because it is my only safe refuge away from my own anger and sadness.

Slavakion 11-12-2004 06:14 PM

Mine came from back in the day when Black and White (the game) was all the rage. I needed an evil sounding name, and Slavakion popped out. For any who are curious, it's Slah-vay-key-on NOT Slah-vah-key-on.

JumpinJesus 11-12-2004 06:30 PM

when I registered, I thought about using the nickname that I was given in the Air Force that stuck with me for 5 years. But, as I was registering, I was listening to the Dead Milkmen's "Stuart" and just as I was selecting my nickname, the line, "Jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick! Everybody knows that a burrow owl lives..in a hole..in the ground! Why the hell you think they call it a burrow owl, anyway??"

That line always makes me laugh, so I chose JumpinJesus instead of Sluggo.

And now you know, and now I slink away.

11-12-2004 06:35 PM

there is another thread on here about this.

I chose my screenname because I have a strong connection to and passion for the ocean.

Stiltzkin 11-13-2004 12:52 AM

Well... I've only ever used this nickname on this forum. Stiltzkin simply because I had finished up Final Fantasy 9 and thought Stiltzkin was the most awesome moogle I had ever seen. Plus I am a general moogle fan. Since I am a moogle ^^

And no, my nickname has nothing to do with the fable of Rumplestiltskin or whatever. I don't know if the character in the game was named after that story though, but I didn't pick this nickname directly off of that story. For those who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, link.

fatbob 11-13-2004 03:39 AM

fatbob was the name of my old favourite snowboard...plus my real name and nickname are always taken so i just use this...nb: i'm neither fat nor called bob in real life!

Ishmal 11-24-2004 12:18 AM

my screenname is my nickname in real life. my mate heard "Ishmal" in a movie some-where (possibly while stoned)... he decided to call someone that, thinkin it was cool... i was the next person who walked into the room... and that was a year or two ago.

if anyone can tell me the movie it mite'a been i'd be greatful.

bundy 11-24-2004 01:22 AM

i was electrocuted by the state of Florida a few decades back... and survived on the internet, just like some really crap b-grade horror movie.

no, thats a lie.

i was called bundy after Bundaberg Rum back when i used to work in a bar a number of years ago.

yahway96 11-24-2004 12:15 PM

mine comes from a strange ritual passing it to the left hand side... That got me knicknamed Yahwah because I looked like jesus. Not wanting to offend anyone I changed it to yahway for a screen name. The 96 part doent realy have a reason or meaning except that it is better than 69.

Moby Dick?

todd 11-24-2004 09:40 PM

my name = Todd.

I just wish 'todd' would be available other places, like on AIM =p. I've had todd on my buddy list for years and not once seen it online...

Bacchanal 11-24-2004 10:08 PM

Clutch has a song called Bacchanal, and I always liked the song. When I looked up what it meant I got:

Quote:

1. A participant in the Bacchanalia.
2. The Bacchanalia. Often used in the plural.
3. A drunken or riotous celebration.
4. A reveler
At the time I was drinking and partying quite a bit, so I figured it fit.

heyal256 11-25-2004 07:09 PM

My screen name is quite simple, hey, my nickname (al) and a number just because I needed it to be unique, so hey al 256 or heyal256. I figured that it was cool that if anybody needed to find me they would shout hey al.

optik_nerve 11-26-2004 08:05 PM

Mines from a Skinny Puppy song. I changed the spelling though.

Zephyr66 11-26-2004 09:04 PM

Zephyr has always been my online name, the greek god of wind incase you didn't already know, and the 66 came from 666 like the iron maiden song
"six! six! six! the number of the beast! hell and fire was born to be released!"

djohnson 11-26-2004 09:06 PM

Well....its easy. First name is dave and last name is??? You guess. LOL

muckluck 11-26-2004 09:41 PM

well, Krusty said the word muckluck on an episode of The Simpsons. He called it a word that sounds "dirty".

K-Wise 11-27-2004 01:55 AM

When I first started posting on message boards years ago, probably 98 or 99, it was on ezboards designed specifically for people to post up rap lyrics of theirs. My emcee/stage name is Knowledge The Wise 1. This is the name I used on the one board, in particular, that I had taken for my little online haven. Other board members began nicknaming me over time since Knowledge The Wise 1 is so long and all...they would either call me Knowledge or Wise at first. Then they started calling me KTWO, Special K, and one guy called me K-Wise...that one kinda stuck a lot. I liked it so I made it a regular alias of mine when referring to myself. This board didn't allow me to have a name as long as Knowledge The Wise 1 so I just went by the next shortest thing which was K-Wise. Thats the legend.

Asta!!

Chemical Smoo 11-27-2004 08:19 PM

Great info so far, keep em coming!

LoganSnake 11-27-2004 09:13 PM

Well, being a gamer that I am, my screen name comes from videogames. On one sunny day in 1999, when I was registering for Mplayer to play some Quake II online, I had to make up a name. The first thing that popped into my mind was LoganSnake. Gabe Logan is a character of a PSX game called Syphon Filter. Solid Snake is a character from the Metal Gear series. Both games on PSX were my favorite action titles at the time, hence the name.

So this screen name has been used everywhere, without changing, for just about 6 years now.

grendel 11-27-2004 09:58 PM

i'm a marillion fan from a while back (and still dig 'em, even though they're hardly playing the same kind of music these days). one of their earlier tunes that i really dug was called Grendel, which was based on the John Gardner book of the same name that retold the Beowulf legend from the monster's point of view.

radioguy 11-27-2004 10:05 PM

i work in radio and am a guy.....pretty simple.

Ishmal 11-29-2004 11:30 PM

OracleEyes 11-30-2004 12:11 AM

Oracle is just what the name says, as for eyes, the eyes see all, even if they are blind, so oracleeyes just came natural to seeing what others didnt...

bernadette 11-30-2004 10:43 AM

i picked bernadette when i was 7 years old as my catholic confirmation name.
so did about half of the little girls in my second grade class, probably because right prior to our confirmation ceremony a movie about saint bernadette had just been aired on television.

everywhere else on the internet i am known as either kat or hasfurrychildren.
when i signed up for tfp, initally i didn't want to be recognized by people who knew me online elsewhere. now i could care less. but i have grown to love being called bernie or bern here. makes me feel all warm & fuzzy. hehe :) i love you peoples.

Giant Hamburger 11-30-2004 01:20 PM

My story is exactly like Bernadette's.

Stiltzkin 11-30-2004 01:24 PM

The story of how Giant Hamburger picked his name:

MacGuyver 11-30-2004 02:56 PM

MacGuyver is a fictional TV, boy-scoutly type genious. Come on, the man can make a nuclear fusion reactor out of a number 2 pencil, 25-minute calling card, a roll of electrical tape, a belt buckle, some post-it notes and a class ring. Coolest show EVER.

indigochild111 11-30-2004 04:58 PM

My mom was reading this book, I don't remember the name of it. Anyways they were discussing what they called "indigo children" in it. Basically (if I can recall) indigo children are gifted in certain ways (not like prodigal) such as incredible intuition and the like. There was a lot more too it but over the years I forgot. Basically she told me I was an indigo child and I made it my screen name. The number 111 has some sort of odd significance in our family. Actually there were books written about the "power" of this number. Anyways it just seemed that many times when odd things happened to us the number 11, 111, or 1111 would somehow be involved.

My family is very strange :-D

miyamotomusashi 11-30-2004 08:23 PM

I used a diffrent name but my ISP changed and I lost my old email account. When i wanted a new email account w. the same name but i could not get it. At the time i was doing a lot of reading on Musashi. Musashi was taken so i went w/ Miyamotomusashi. Miyamoto is used today as the last name of musashi (his real name is much longer and much harder to rember (for me at least))

Loved that show. Especially the episodes where he searches for the holy grail.

Best quote: "The holy grail? I saw Indiana Jones get it."

Sorry, not meaning to threadjack, btw.

warrrreagl 12-01-2004 06:07 AM

Long story (what else?): Wife and I moved to Iowa in 1994 and lost touch with everyone we knew. Isolated in Iowa. We bought AOL and joined up in order to maintain sanity and keep touch with folks. She thought of the original sign-on name, which had to be 10 characters back then, and she wanted it to be related to our home. Hence, "warrrreagl" was created. My original AOL name was Hed-Red, but I took over the warrrreagl name when she thought of a better one for herself. I kept it up on AOL until 2002, but I've been warrrreagl all over the Internet since way back then.

*yawn*

Stug 12-01-2004 06:33 AM

My real name is Doug.

I rang up my Italian friend of mine one day, to ask her if she was coming out.

But her Mum answered the phone and said in a thick Italian accent "Who-ease it?"

To which I replied: "It's Doug!"

She said: "Hey Valeria! It's'a Stug onna phone!"

It stuck...

Livia Regina 12-02-2004 12:57 PM

I thought that Livia was the coolest character from I Claudius. There's one chapter called "Poison is Queen" and as Livia was poisoning everyone who got in the way of her son's chances at being emperor Livia = poison = queen. I couldn't get Livia Regina on AIM so I switched it to Regina Livia.

ratiocination 12-03-2004 01:15 AM

The story of my nickname is really sad ! I was studying the word lists for my SATa few months back , and ratiocination seemed like a really sophisticated word to me. It means the "process of thinking" or something like that, and it inspired me to name my nickname that.

hiro-acid 12-03-2004 08:29 AM

In the early 90s a girl gave me a copy of Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash, telling me that the book contained a lot of me in it. I indentified to a large degree with the protagonist of the story, humourously named "Hiro Protagonist", and in time I took it as my bbs alias (I'm a geek from waaaaay back). I've stuck with the name for many years, using it as my primary face in the underground art/warez scenes, but having grown up a lot since the early 90s (or so I tell myself) I've progressed to drawing under my first name only (Devin), which I would use for my screen name here were it not already taken. The ACiD part of my name is my art group, Awesome Creators in Demand (www.acid.org), and seperates me from the rest of the Hiro Protagonists out there (another factor in my withdrawl from the alias).. my, this is all pretty lame isn't it? ;)

Devin

taylorspl 12-03-2004 10:30 AM

Taylor being my first name and SPL because I used to compete in SPL competitions, and its rarely taken on forums.

It's what I do. I sell booze.

thlayli 12-03-2004 02:27 PM

My name is from the book Watership Down by Richard Adams. It is the Lapine (rabbit)word meaning "fur head". The reason I chose that nick, was for 2 reasons:
1. I love the book, and Bigwig (Thlayli) is my favorite character
2. My brother-in-law is bald, and I am not, so the name is a private joke on him

:)

Fly 12-03-2004 04:41 PM

it all began when i was a little maggott.........my father always told me i'd be a fly one day.

Kadath 12-13-2004 07:44 PM

Lovecraft's "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath" begins "Three times Randolph Carter dreamed of the marvelous city, and three times was he snatched away while still he paused on the high terrace above it." It is the city where the elder gods dwell, not meant for the eyes of man.

Carno 12-13-2004 08:02 PM

I picked Carn because somebody already had Carno :(

Carno is short for Carnovash, which was the last name of a crazy magician in the game Phantasmagoria.

That game was bad. ass.

Xenomorph 12-13-2004 08:22 PM

I had this whole nifty plan back when I registered with the forums here about how I was going to have an avatar of an alien egg first, then a facehugger eventually, then a chestburster, and then a drone or praetorian or something.

I still plan on doing it...any day now.

I like the first two Alien movies and the Aliens vs. Predator games. Like some other people, I only use this alias for this forum and nothing else.

Jakes 12-19-2004 08:31 PM

i worked at a golf course and the assistant superintendent kept calling me by my last name cause there was already a ben that worked there. he couldnt remember all of my last name or thought it was too long so he shortened jacobs to jakes

my aim name is I3EIV = BEN kinda clever considering i came up with that at the age of 13 and im 23 now. was an originaly used for aol 1.0 or 2.0

Long story, but here's the gist...

During a night of great drunkenness, and after smoking a great amount of pot, a friend of mine said, "you need a nickname... something cool, like... digital- NO, no, no... gotta be cool like, like... like old school cool....(really long pause, 10 very high people hang on his next word for a solid 30 seconds, easy)...... ANALOG!

Stuck instantly.

itch vaccine 12-20-2004 11:21 PM

itch vaccine

my dj name

came about when i wanted something to go with Wee Sim, my name :) So Vaccine came about

But DJ Vaccine would be pure lameness. >.<

So I went about thinking what I needed to vaccinate. And since I'm a skratch DJ, well, itch came about, and thus, Itch Vaccine

fun huh? but I ditched the name for another simpler shorter dj name.
bwahahha!

so now it's just a screen name. :)

Marionette- 12-21-2004 06:16 PM

For some reason the word 'Marionette' has been following me around for about 5 years now. I'm sure there's an actual story as to why I got it in the first place but such knowledge escapes me. Basically everything I sign up to has either the word marionette or puppet in it.

cartmen34 12-21-2004 07:55 PM

Mine is because I'm a guy who can't spell....and isnt' that creative.

Round about the time I decided to start actually signing up for all these message boards instead of just lurking, I liked the show South Park. Cartmen was my favorite character. So like an idiot, instead of looking up the name to check the spelling, I just assumed it was an 'e' not an 'a'. Thus, the incorrect spelling of the name. By the time I'd realized it was wrong everybody on the net knew my digital self, so I didn't bother to change it.
<-- that is the bad spelling part-->

And my favorite number is 34, because in 1996 I was really into supercross, and Ezra Lusk's number was 34. Ezra was the rider I cheered for, so I added it on the end.
<--that's the non-creative part.-->

Cheers. <-- also a not-very-creative way to sign off. ;)

My name started back in the day, i just thought that gravedigger was kind of boring and so i just used gravetaker cause i thought that nothing else really went with grave...

little_tippler 12-23-2004 06:15 AM

my nick comes from the poem in my signature...pretty simple really.

I love Emily Dickinson's writing and this is one of my favourite poems...

little_tippler is a "character" in it

I taste a liquor never brewed,
From tankards scooped in pearl;
Not all the vats upon the Rhine
Yield such an alcohol!
Inebriate of air am I,
And debauchee of dew,
Reeling, through endless summer days,
From inns of molten blue.

When landlords turn the drunken bee
Out of the foxglove's door,
When butterflies renounce their drams,
I shall but drink the more!

Till seraphs swing their snowy hats,
And saints to windows run,
To see the little tippler
Leaning against the sun!

what it means...that's something for a whole other thread...though it's basically about being drunk on life and everything around you...I really love the line about "the little tippler leaning against the Sun...plus I'm little...or sometimes feel it

Hey Mr. Mephisto, anything to do with Cats? Sounds similar to a character in that :)

About 7 Years ago I was really big in animation. I used paint and made Gifs. That was where it all started. I wanted to create an animated series and so I drew a character that pretty much represented me. I only needed a cool name for him. So I starred at my computer blankly. Then I stared at my keyboard blankly. Then I read his new name. The first 5 keys on the keyboard. I thought it was pretty creative, and I just started using that name for everything.

aintyoboyfriend 12-27-2004 09:11 PM

am I your boyfriend? I didn't think so.

The name makes perfect sense now, doesn't it?

Bryndian_Dhai 12-27-2004 10:14 PM

I am a writer, and one of my favorite things about the way I write is character development... most of my stories are based on a character who springs to life (in my head, thanks, lol) and demands to have his/her/its story told. I had one character who seems to be based fairly heavily on myself. Her story has not been written yet, but her character is fully developed. Her name is even based on my given name, her first name is a "gaelicized" sort of sound-alike version of my first name, and her last name is the old Scots gaelic of my family name. The only difference is that her name is female, and my first name is masculine (Brandon). (I am a woman whose mother has a nasty sense of humor).

Anyway, I've been using her name as my own for some time.... it seems right, and it feels right, so maybe that's all her story was about anyway, lol.

Chemical Smoo 12-28-2004 10:37 AM

Great stories... keep em coming!

bing bing 12-28-2004 06:38 PM

Bling Bling - minus two "l"s makes for a far cooler screen name. cool.

lite campfire 12-28-2004 07:01 PM

Just something silly I made up.
I only joined this forum for 't3h pr0n', so I didn't want to use my universal everywhere else screenname.

Mostly I lurk, if I ever feel like meaningfully participating in this forum I'll probably make a new account.

ZenFilthPig 12-30-2004 06:32 AM

Some friends and I were camping at a place that has these massive sanddunes. During the day we were doing a bit of sand-boarding and in the evening we dropped some acid throughout the night were refering to ourselves as the 'Zen Filthpig Sand Bandits from your local friendly Anglican Church'.

We ended up making a 24-hour comic about it (fuelled by alchohol and.... stuff.)

heather99 01-01-2005 01:30 PM

This is the best thread I've read for ages. CityOf Angels, as a name, is so sad, but lovely. Did Chemical Smoo ever explain? I love names. My recent favourite is Waverley Person. Can that be real?
I first thought of Heather after a night out in town. My friends and I met a group of guys who used false names(yes, I know). When I discovered this I thought it was kinda cool. I like flowers so: Heather is also Erica, Cally(Calluna) and Ling. Plus it's not terribly pretty. Oh, and Heather Graham was in the news at the time. And, from an IT point of view: if 01,02 and 03 have gone try 99. Then there's the cornet and flake 99 which is a little amusing. Plus, I can hide behind it.

Tracybrian 01-04-2005 05:24 PM

Everyone has very cool storys but mine is nothing amasing I live in the city of Tracy and my name is Brian. Maybe that is to much real info for a screen name.

Fourtyrulz 01-05-2005 01:04 PM

I needed to make a Hotmail email account back in 5th grade to join Geocities (those were the days hehe) and I was at a loss. I thought, "What do I like?...hmmm.. the San Fransico 49ers, they rule!" I was cool back then too so I added a "z", and apparently I was retarded too because I spelled "fourty" wrong! :D

Zant 01-17-2005 11:42 AM

I got into Graffiti art in my sophomore year in highschool and was thinking of a name
my real name is zain so I wanted something with a Z in it
as a joke I thought of Zanthrax but got quickly bored of it cuz its was too long and I got too lazy to type it out all the time and tag it out, so then I started doing Zant in my classes on the tables and stuff, so Zant kinda stuck, I use it everywhere now.

munchen 01-17-2005 11:55 AM

My sister went to work in europe for a co-op term and she brought me back a HUGE stein from germany that says munchen on it. its the only thing i ever drink out of. So when i needed to pick a username it was right there in front of me

Charlatan 01-17-2005 12:44 PM

Charlatan is the name I've gone by since I first started visting BBSs back in 1989 or 90... No real story behind it other than it was the name of my school newspaper (which I never worked for) and that I had a friend who would occasionally shout, "Baudelaire, Charlatan!" for no apparent reason...

When I needed a screen name all those years ago, it just sort of stuck in my head... It also summed(sums?) up the way I felt about myself...

TexanAvenger 01-17-2005 07:26 PM

I'm really proud of the fact that I'm originally from Texas, like apparently everybody else from there. I, however, hardly conform to the standard views of Texans. The most important differences, in my mind, being the difference in political stances. Therefore, I'm trying to show that not everybody from Texas is as staunchly conservative and ridiculously devoted to Bush as many people seem to think.

flstf 01-17-2005 07:29 PM

waxmax 03-06-2005 12:34 AM

My 1 year old son Max tried to drink a lit candle and got coated. After the heartstopping shock wore off and he was cleaned up and OK, I started to call him waxmax. Well, the shock never really wore off...

Kalnaur 03-06-2005 12:54 AM

Kalnaur has been my username for several boards, and was derived from a book of Tolkien Elvish. According to that book, I seem to remember my name meaning something along the lines of "Light Fire" or "White Fire".

Yes I am a geek. And . . . ? ;)

lordpoopshank 03-06-2005 07:46 AM

jhkayakr 03-06-2005 05:13 PM
