On a Lighter Note: Women Explained!
 

I wasn't sure wether to put this in Humour or Advice, but ultimately I think it belongs in Advice. It's some good stuff, basically explains how women think and how to deal with it. It's some guy's theory, which he called Ladder Theory. Check it out at:

This is a very cynical look at relationships.
I certainly hope no one takes this to heart.
There are people out there of worth.

Remember most initial relationships are going to be difficult because there is so many selfish members of BOTH sexes.
It's just a process of making yourself worthy and finding the person worthy of you.

Just keep trying,
otherwise you will be finding yourself becoming those you despise.

In the old forum, I related back to the ladder theory in a couple of my posts. I was always negative about relationships, and was always thinking I was on the friends ladder. Thanks to the people on this board (especially Rogue, who provided a fantastic insight and great advice, thannks Rogue) Im not so negative anymore. It is an interesting, but cynical look at the relationship game, but theres so much more to it, so don't take it too seriously.

I think that it's a bit one sided. If we as a species can have out motivations charted in one pie chart per sex, I shudder to think what we would all be like. Sure this might break down a majority of people, but I think that it's way to one sided to be able to apply this theory to anyone without first getting to know them really well.

First of all, and not to be a jerk, but quoting Hubbard is lame- that guy was, beyond anyone's doubt, clinically insane. If you believe his BS, you have to believe pretty much anything.

Secondly, while of course Ladder Theory does not explain EVERYTHING, it is a good place to start. There are plenty of areas where its simple, cynical explanation suffices. That's not to say you shouldn't take it with a grain of salt; it's obviously written as both satire and humour.

Thirdly, women are not really more complicated than men, they are just entirely alien to us men, so it's hard to understand at first. Just spend enough time with a girl on an intimate level, like months and years, and you'll figure them out to the same degree that you do men.

the friend ladder seems very familiar to me. In high school i socialized with a couple girls who gave the exact same symptoms as that guy explained as putting me on the friends ladder. Looking back, nothing ever happened, save for me helping one of the girls with calculus homework.

its funny because most of this is true. Its kind of sad really. I'm always on the friends ladder.

I found this a while ago, lost it, and am now thankful for its return to me. I don't fully agree (well, not much at all), but it's good for a laugh or when I'm feeling cynical.
