Unibrou

Anyone ever drank that mark of beer? It's freaking awesome (plus it's made in Quebec!)

I started drinking that with my friend a year ago and now i must have drink 14 kind of beer from that company. And what'S more awsome is that the alcool % go from 5.0% to 10.5%.

Lemme tell ya something, after you drink a bottle (750 ml) of 10.5% beer, you feel awesome. It's not like Black label BIG 10% (i wasnt even able to finish it, too discusting). The 10,5% is called "Terrible". Anyone else tried it?

Yup. I've had most of them and agree. They are a very good beer. I've even sent a few to a friend in Belgium who is a hard core beer snob and he was impressed. If you live near Montreal, the brewery does tours.

I wish they would change their name to something less corporate sounding. Something that has a little bit of Quebec-ness to it. I have always stayed away from Unibrou in the beer store because i've equated it with the big corporate breweries based purely on the name (plus it sounds bit like uni-brow!).

I know it doesn't make sense but I guess that's why advertisers make money. I make a point of purchasing from micro or craft breweries only. I gave up on Blue & Canadian etc years ago. What's a good Unibrou product that taste a bit like Sleeman's Dark Ale?

I dont know about that...i dindnt really liked the FIN DU MONDE, dont remember why. I know that the BLANCHE DE CHAMBLY is awesome and have a low alcool % (5,5%) and DON DE DIEU is nice too even if a big stronger (9%). For someone beginning with that company, i would recomend either of those two.

I've seen the Blanch de Chambly in the beer store. I dont mind the low alcohol. I'm descended from chinese parents, so my skin takes on an embarassingly bright red hue, when i drink booze!!

UniBroue is without question making some of the best beers in Canada...

I am a fan of Maudite, Fin du Monde, Blanche de Chambly, Trois Pistoles...

They remind me of Belgian or German beers.

I was worried when I saw that they'd been bought by Sleeman's but so far I haven't noticed a change in the taste...

A while ago i tried Creemore Lager. It was great. Then I went into a discovery of ales, trying everything from dark to bitter, British to Canadian, favouring the darks. But last weekend, i went to the LCBO, and they were sampling Creemore, so I bought a six-pack.

Now I remember why i liked it so much. The colour is a nice mid amber, and the flavour is hearty. I'm so glad i re-discovered it!
