i know its not likely, but is there any way that last months bill (or the last bill, whenever that was) wasn't paid in full so that it could have carried over to this month?
thats the only thing i can think of, other than the obvious (that telstra is beyond shit).

i know how you all feel..... and i work for the bastards! (well sensis actually .... same thing really!)
the company is really full of shit. is you showed this to one of the managers up higher they would be shocked and i doubt that they would know what to do either because upper management is so sheltered from what is really happening on the floor, middle management in telstra are almost all yes men and they wont stand up and say things are wrong.... sad really! |

Is sensis the same thing? I use call connect a bit, and noticed that they now say 'thank you for using sensis'...

well .... sort of ... telstra now owns us, sensis is the yellow pages (re branded) and it is now telstra's cash cow!
call connect now costs so much more too .... try using 1223 it is much cheaper! also 1234 is really really expencive only use it if you have to and get off the phone as fast as possible they charge per second. |

I'm bumping this thread to bitch about Telstra.
I rang them today.. spent 30-45 minutes on the phone w/ the chick to get my phone cancelled at my current place, connected at my new place (moving to a new area, means new exchange/new number), and dropping my plan down to their "budget" plan ($18.50.. bullshit!). An hour later I rang my new ADSL provider (WestNet) to see if I could get ADSL connected in advance so I didn't have to wait for a connection. They tell me to ring Telstra back and see if I can get the connection time moved up. I ring Telstra back.. they have no record of my application.. absolutely none... they could give me the number I had reserved (or was allocated, whatever) before. So it seems the first time my application didn't actually go onto the system.. fucking stupid! Another 30-45 mins later I'm set up (again) and the lady has made sure the application went on the system. What a pain. Changing over Gas/Elec was a pain too.. don't get me started on them... still not as bad as Telstra. |

Yeah fuck telstra. They always jerk me around too.
On a side note, these clean eletricity dudes came to my door one day and told me to switch to enviro friendly energy. They said it would be no extra cost, so i made the switch. 2 months later i find a massive bump up in the rates. I call them to complain, and they just tell me, Ooops we were wrong about that.

yep.. I switched recently to.. to AIX or AGI or some random letters that start with A. Before I've even received my first bill.. I receive a letter "there's an increase in rates blah blah blah". But now they have me on a 1 year (or maybe 2 year) contract.. bastards!
of course.. in the long run.. they're probably cheaper.. as origin wasn't charging me for offpeak rates.. I was getting charged everything at onpeak for whatever reason.. these guys (apparently) will charge me for onpeak/offpeak. |
