Political Reform
 

So here we are in a minority government, and somehow we've managed to dodge this issue. Paul Martin finds himself surrounded by three parties which all desire some form of political reform, and has thus far avoided having theis issue coming to the forefront.

I imagine it's only a matter of time before this pushes Pharmacare out of the news, so share your thoughts. What degree of political reform do you think is best for Canada? And do you think the other parties can push Martin into it, or will he simply delay the debate until he can call an election for majority.

I think if he keeps stalling we will get a majority government without the liberals in power. Right now the liberals hold suprisingly little power in the house- they need to start comprimising in order to get things done.

Reform would be great. Abolish the senate or at least make them elected AND efficient.
More public referendums. Stop social policies that give more rights and advantage to certain groups.
More accountability, truth serum... hmmm, the wish list just keeps getting bigger.

With all that said, we won't see much reform for another decade, things have to get a lot worse before they get better. Taxation will be the breaking point for Canadians, it will force us to care and take notice of the mispending and corruption. Till then, crack a beer, tune into this hour has 22 minutes and let your mind wander.....
