Boredom, Something, & Nothing.
I wasn't sure if this was too silly to be posted in the philosophy section, so if it's not, feel free to move this....
So I'm talking with a friend of mine on IM. He asks what I'm doing. I tell him, "nothing." He asks if I'm bored. -"Nope." Him: "Then you must be doing something." Me: "I'm browsing (msg brd name here)." Him: "So you are doing something." Me: "Don't go turning this into some kinda philosophical conversation!" Him: "Why not? It'd be fun!" So, okay, here we go.... and all over me browsing a msg board... I'm probably not making any sense with what I say further in this conversation, but pretend you understand anyway. :D Quote:
So the question remains... Can you do nothing, when others consider it something, and not be bored? Or, are you really doing "something," which could be nothing, and still not be bored? "Are you pondering what I'm pondering Pinky?" http://www.tilda.edu-negev.gov.il/nit/p&brain2.gif |
your post made me bored although I'm doing nothing here at work
:p j/k. It was always hard back when I lived at home to explain to my parents that I was doing nothing while I was surfing the web. |
