Plummies Chinchilla looks like something that would fit the bill.

Get a Guinea Pig!!! We've had ours for about 2 months and he's starting to remember us now. He'll start squeaking, just wanting us to play with him. Very cute (as you can see ;) ) and just clean his cage once a week and you're golden!

Sugar Glider
I had one and they are great pets :) |
a rat
they're extremely sweet & they are very clean. YOU just hafta keep their cage clean for them. once or twice a week the cage needs attended to. but if you're primarily concerned about having to clean up after a pet, then i suggest the pet rock™ ;) |
I suggest the facehugger.

Birds are great. Especially if you get a parrot or cockatiel or something you can teach to talk.
|
A hamster kicks ass, although their lifespan is quite short, about 2-3 years. Ive had like 10 hamsters so far, and each time they die, I still get very upset.

You could aways get yourself a handmirror.
It comes with a built-in face that will do whatever you want, whenever you want. http://www.dikenga.com/films/firecra...and_mirror.jpg |
i was at the petshop yesterday and they were selling lots of lovely pets...
bird-eating spiders - $100 desert scorpions - $50 new england bantams - $50 golden eels - $30 nemo (clown fish) - $28 hermit crabs (large/small) - $10/$5 rats - $5 there were puppies, kittens, bunnies, and guinea pigs, but somehow they weren't as interesting as the others. i'm thinking of getting a few eels. you should look into it. |
You Need A FERRETT!!

I think Sugar Gliders are cool too. Since ya want something hand held....they say once you've had em long enough you can actually call them down from whatever shelf or cabinet they've glided over to and they'll glide right into yer pocket. I think thats awesome. http://www.usagichan.com/mascot/images/elfluna01.jpg http://home.att.net/~duodavis/x99_14.jpg Cute huh? Hedgehogs are also kinda cool. http://www.glaquarium.org/scans2/hedgehog.jpg http://www.parrotsoftheworld.com/otherpets-hedgehog.gif I kinda like Bernadette's rat too. Hey maybe you could even get a penguin! Ya know there actually only two species of actual Arctic penguins in the world. Be cute....like on 50 first dates http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/funstuf...guins_1024.jpg J/k bout the penguin I've always wanted a Pygmy Marmoset. Hard to find a picture where one actually looks happy though. Plus I think they might be endangered so thats a no no. http://www.aoba.sakura.ne.jp/~momonc...marmoset01.jpg http://www.bergen.org/Smithsonian/Ma...nkey/pygmy.gif http://www.math.umd.edu/~wwa/zamazon/DCP_0137a.JPG *edit*Kid pic removed - SM70 See they look kinda pissed eh? Maybe they just don't like Camera's that much. Asta!! |
get a pet penis......they're fun to play with.....
|

Whatever you do, don't get a dog. They can't talk or drive, no matter what the guy at the pet store says. Don't get suckered like I did.
|
Fish are good if you can get them housebroken. My Stanley only "goes" when I put him in the stool every evening. After he's done his business, I put him back in his pen, and toss him a fish flake. (inexpensive too!)
