I just saw this video of a killer whale attacking a trainer at Sea World. Pretty scary. Here is the link.

People always get mad at me for taking the side of the animal in things like this....but we can't always hope to understand wild animals and this is a risk people *know* they're taking by having a job where they work with animals.
Sometimes animals will show their wild side. I hope they understand this and give the whale another chance before putting him to sleep or something.

My thoughts exactly. I always side with the animal. They don't know any better. We do.

Honestly, if I was the trainer, I would be shitting my wetsuit and fearing for my life. But if I was a whale who wanted to actually kill or hurt the trainer... well:

I don't know, but that seems to be a common response to animal attacks

We have intefeard in its life.

I had a pet skunk. I am well educated in an animals wild behavior.

As long as we hold such animals as pets or worse for show
accidents will happen and most of the time the animal
will soon be put down..:mad:

Willy was upset but the trainer saw this and took appropriate
action. I'm happy at this time that no one was hurt.:cool:

They're called killer whales for a reason.

i saw an interview on television the following morning.
the trainer said he was not scared at all.
he added that the whale was approaching puberty... so that may have been part of it.

heck, i think the whale just wanted to play. the clip on tv looked far less scary.

everybody gets tired of working.
even trained whales sometimes say "eff this job. time for some FUN biatch!"
