my fucking house flooded.... the goddamn washer tube thing fell outta the washer/basin thing.. and I came home to find standing water on the lino.. and the carpet saturated all the way around the edges.. what's worse is.. I live in units.. and the neighbours place flooded too. Fucking wonderful.

I'm never leaving the house again while the washer is running.

Oh dear. That happened to me earlier in the year - the bathroom drain blocked and flooded my mezzanine while my oldest daughter was having a shower. The insurance handled it, and luckily is was in summer so the carpet dried quickly but it's still a pain in the arse.

I'll be in Melbourne early Jan for a week or so but will miss it. Last time I saw Billy Bragg was in 1986. And I'll bet he's pretty much the same nowadays. And that's not a bad thing of course....

Did anyone do the Melbourne Cup thing at work today? We did a lunch, had sweeps and the girlies who wear frocks and hats dressed up in them (I don't do frocks). Then we all stopped work and watched the race....it was fun.

Yep - yesterday was a pretty bludgy day. 9 holes of golf at 7am followed by beer at the club house. then a little bit of work, before the guys I work with came over to my place for beer, nibblies and watching the race. All in all a very unproductive day for our workplace
