Dingos stealing babies.
 

This old guy has come forth and said that yes he shot the dingo that took Azaria all those years ago, with the baby still in its mouth.
If this is true then fair go to Lindy who served jailtime for the whole affair. Although the chamberlin family seemed strange to me. For instance, apparently 'Azaria' means 'death in the wilderness'. This is kinda odd dont you think.

According to this , Azaria is Hebrew and means 'Blessed By God'. Nothing odd about that.
The 'death in the wilderness' garbage you've heard of was undoubtedly dreamed up in an attempt to cast even more wierdness on an already bizarre story.

Incidently, this guy's story about shooting the dingo doesn't ring true. He says he didn't report it because he was afraid of being fined for killing a protected animal.
For fucks sake, he could freely shoot one of the Queen's Corgis if it had a baby dangling from its mouth.

I've heard lots of bits of pieces of this whole story.. and of course someone mocking it saying "I Dingo Took My Baby". News reports/etc assume you have knowledge of the incident already, so it's hard to put together everything. Does anyone want to sum up the situation that happened all those years ago?

Thanks for the link bundy.. that was a very detailed account. I read all three parts. Bit pissed off at the NT government for being dicks about it all, but I think I'm 20 years too late ;)

I reckon this old guy is full of it.. otherwise he would have come forward SOMETIME in the 6-8 years that the whole charade went on.

Did you hear about the Irish dingo?

It ate the Azaleas.

And why would the old guy wait till his mates were dead to tell his story, they could have corroborated it. But he was apparently trying to protect them?? bit unbelievable.
