Delta *bloody* Goodrem
Can't believe it, Delta has taken out the Australian Performer of the Year at the 2004 MO awards. I would have thought that you would need to have performances in the year to qualify for this (much like Delta winning a logie the year before last, AND she was widely tipped for the GOLD this year, in neither year did she do jack shit).
Do we, as a nation, feel so sorry for her that we'll give her anything . . . maybe Delta for PM. S |
Eh! Give her a break. She has cancer. :D
Who do you think should have got the 'Australian Performer of the year?' Milsy maybe? :P Australian talent is pretty thin at the moment :( |
How about a real musician, like John Butler? That bloke has been working on a chart topping album (the first independent release to debut at #1) and gigging incessantly the last couple of years.
|
The only performance she's done this year is star in pepsi advertisements.
|
It's how the 14 year old chicks think that counts. Shit, Silverchair kept winning everything 2 years into their self imposed exile...
Scud better be hittin' that. |
Quote:
"...and for his solid work on Paris Hilton, for hitting it where it counts, and for getting it while Thorpie got denied... the Best Performer Award goes to MILSY..." while i don't think she should have received this award this year (because she didn't do any performing as such...) i wouldn't deny that the girl is both talented and gorgeous... and yes... i'd hit it. |
Now, I'll be slightly serious here. I have a 10 year old daughter who LOVES Delta. And I must say from a parental point of view, as a role model for young girls, she's not too bad. Give me (as a parent) Delta over Nikki Webster or Brittney Spears, et al, anyday. She's talented, sweet, gorgeous and very genuine.
Although, her music bores me somewhat, but I'm not her target audience! |
Not saying that she's untalented, nor that she it unhitable (I'd hit it), but how far does sympathy go . . .
I also find it amusing that when she was at the Aust Open with SCUD she was a distraction, at wimbleton she is his inspiration ??? S |
