Hhhmm. Well, as a woman who refers to herself as a "thirtysomething", I find I am both attracting and attracted to men who are younger than me. In fact, I make a rule not to date men older than me.

I hear from my single girlfriends (who do the pubs more often than I) that younger men consider older women to be generally more sexually experienced (tick), have less hangups (uumm....), are more confident of themselves, their body and their sexuality (tick), are financially stable (tick) and generally have their shit together more than the younger chickies.

Still.....I seem to be the only chick in this Aussie corner here so I dunno how gender balanced the responses will be!

Love life stinks. My house-o single-mum went back to her loose cannon ex, the ugly chick from home is off the piss so I never run into her, and the ex-girlfriend will probably never talk to me again after I told her I wasn't going to Sydney, then ran into her at the Swans-Essendon game, and when she rang later on for an explaination I thought I'd give the lads a laugh by telling her I wasn't interested in upgrading my car insurance.

But not smart. I'm not overly proud of this actually, this girl thinks (thought) alot of me (she proposed to me, and that must've taken intestinal fortitude that I don't possess) and I know it would've crushed her. When i really think about it, I get mighty pissed off at myself...

So you crushed her for the amusement of your mates and now feel kinda crap about it? Meri, if you really love her and want her back, just tell the truth about how you feel. In my humble opinion, the truth is highly under-rated. Trust me, she'll appreciate it.

Then, on the other hand, if you don't feel that way about her, just get over it and move on. Regret is futile.
