BLOODY MARY! Quick Survey!
 

I'm doing a bit of research for a game I will be running revolving around the urban legend of Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary is the version of the legend I heard, she also goes by, Mary Worth, Bloody Maria, and a few others. Please tell me your version of the story and the steps you would go through to summon Bloody Mary!


Here's the version I heard:

A long time ago there was a woman named Mary, and all three of her children died in a horrible accident. In grief she clawed her face off and her eyes out of her head. She bled to death in the bathroom. Now her soul may no longer rest and she haunts the mirrors in all bathrooms. If you turn on the water in the sink and let it run until it gets hot, you chant "Bloody Mary" 10 times while pointing at the mirror and making circles in the air. If you make it to ten then her face will appear and she will try to scratch your face off.

I never made it to ten.

As a quick after thought, I am in the Southwest in Arizona and there are many urban legends Concerning the Weeping Woman or La lloronda (sp?). If you have any versions of that story, please share as well.

hmm I played Bloody Mary before... I remember in 1st grade we'd play it before school started.. It was like Hide & Go Seek Tag. Fun Game, especially with the English kid walked up.. He was stunned and apauled.. "BLOODY MARY I FOUND KEITH!!!" hehehe

Golux, Thats basically the game i played when I was younger. You would go to a mirror, usually the bathroom, and say her name a certain amount of times and she would appear and scratch you! weird kid things, but I'll tell you I never did say it enough for her to supposedly appear. Yeah yeah I was a wimp...

Yes like us all I too am a supreme puss! I have heard various versions of this thing, she will appear and kill you and all that jibber, but always to big of a little wimp to make it all the way...that and I was petrified of the dark as a kid! So bondagegirl and golux your not alone in your wimp-ti-tude!

I tried this. doesnt work. I wouldnt know really because the light was off.. maybe she did try to claw my eyes out. There was a place before the mines came by here that you could go to and hear horses screaming, chains and a carriage crashing into a ravine at midnight right down the road from my house. A few of my friends all went down there and all but 3 of us chickened out and when we heard it and told everyone they didnt believe us.
