unscramble this word

I really don't know what the answer to this is, it was in a contest and I need some help. It has to do with spring in some way:

gbnaiol

How could I not respond to someone from Hamburg?
This is a tough one and I'm sure I am wrong but...

"a goblin"

I know, I know, it's two words and has little to do with spring but it is all I could come up with. Well, except for "Al Bingo" which made me laugh but means nothing. Alas, I've got very little to offer.

Wait, how about "Albino G," the next great white rapper?

*looks around...crickets chirping*

OK, I'm done.

BOLAING

bola - that rope with a weight at each end. You swing it around and throw it so that it wraps itself around the legs of the thing you threw it at.

bolaing - its a stretch, but the act of throwing the bola

It has to do with a spring, eh?

La boing?

Sorry, that's all I can come up with. I think, however, that it would end in either -IAL or -ING. That's all the help I can offer.

I'm sorry, but is bolgian even a word? There's nothing in the dictionary for it, and nothing turns on in a Google Search.

According to Wordsmith.org's anagram server, there is no one word anagram for "gbnaiol". And that site normally turns up some of the wall words.

Begonia - IF "L" should be an "E". that would have something to do with spring.
