What's the 3 most expensive things you've bought?

I think can guess many people's top two.

For me, it's as follows.

1) 2003 Ford XR6 Turbo @ $54,000
2) Pearl and diamond necklace and ear-rings wedding present for my wife @ $16,000
3) Diamond and platinum engagement ring @ $8,000

Of course, once I buy a house, that will go to the top.

Strange what we spend our money on, no?

I have invested a lot of money in stereo equipment over the years, I have some decent stuff, that right now is not worth what I paid for it, but I could still blow the roof off of Madison Square Garden if I chose to. Alas, all I use now is my IPod.

Computer equipment

and there's a ton invested in my doll collection.

No one item is worth anything by itself..

1) Spring tuition 2004 ($300 something, it's there because the price went up from what it was the previous semester).
2) Spring books ($250)
3) nVidia Geforce 4 Ti4400 ($200 at the time, the 4200 was about to come out, but my TNT2 died so I need a new card right away. This was a while back)

Yea.... that's about it. The next highest thing that would be on the list would be $80 for the antec case I got three years ago.

EDIT: for some reason I thought 250 was more than 300... rearranged the numbers.

I just checked my beloved prison -- i mean alma mater, when I graduated in '86, it was just over 20K a year, now it's damn near close to 40K. Glad I am as old as I am.

Dang that's a lot for a necklace!

Hmm...

1. College education. Roughly $50,000. Most of which were loans that have been paid off (thank God). Luckly my parents took out loans as well as scholerships, or I'd be about $90,000 in the hole.
2. My car, soon I'll have it all paid off $22,000ish
3. Hmm... The furniture for my apartment. Roughtly $6,000 total.

I'll do it in USD.
1) University Education (tuition): 16,000$ (8 terms @ 1600-2400-odd$/term)
2) 2.5 week European/Atlantic vacation: 2,500$-ish
3) Car: 1,600$ or 2,400$ (forgot) -- Damn thing is still running.

I assume we should only count consumer goods, not investments?

Well, there were the intial payments during the gestation period and the payment to the hospital. Then there was feeding and care, shelter, clothing, ballet, cheerleading, trips to Europe and modeling school, transportation, proms, vacations, etc.

I didn't buy them outright but they are by far the most expensive things I have undertaken to support.

Of course, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
