Hmm...so, for east-coasters, we've got three or four in NB (one moving to Halifax), two already in Halifax, two in Truro... oh, and a couple on PEI (at least one who hasn't checked in, but I know she's there, right Shannon?)

Not bad, not bad! Let's all meet down at the Split Crow in Hali for a pint. You NB'ers and Islanders will have to find a ride here, though. Sorry :) However, for those that come from away (as they say), the first one's on me.

Best city in Canada imho!

Don't take our money Ontario....Please!!!!

Janey 10-12-2004 11:06 AM

explain, cause i don't get it.

Averett 10-12-2004 11:11 AM

Ooh I know!

Well, a friend of mine lives in Alberta, and he's always saying how Ontario gets more government funding or some such. I usually tune him out when he gets on those rants

Calgary is lovely though.

Janey 10-12-2004 01:09 PM

It is beautiful. except for the Calgary Flames, I love the place. Oh yes and except for the Stampeders (AAAARRRGGOOOOOOOSSSSSSS!!!!)

I think that you get that rant anywhere you go. In Ontario, the rant is very similar: Don't take our money. Please!

Hey wait a minute, the rant is identical!!! lol.

wrt to the more funding: its all in proportion to population. Alberta: population 3 million and change, Ontario population 12 million and change.

People here in Ontario are always complaining that they are being taxed to death, so that the money can go to the rest of the country. Meanwhile, they see all the profits that Alberta makes on oil, but it stays in the corporation's hands, or the provincial gov't hands. So there's a wine festival across the country!!!

definition of us Canadians: Never happy.

It actually is an oval... they just closed the station at Lower Bay that would complete the loop.

ya no NHL, but there is still OHL, CHL, WHL and all the other smaller leagues.

I don't play "AAA"(innercity) anymore but I still get together with friends everyweek and thats the best hockey ever

silent_jay 11-12-2004 11:38 PM

From Ottawa here.

The CHL is better than the NHL anyways IMO. Nothing beats watching a bunch of kids play who are so close to making it they can taste it. Not like those over-priced cry babies in the NHL, I was glad to see the lower paid guys in the league speaking up, they finally realize the NHLPA is only looking out for the best interests of the already rich players, not the lower paid guys.
