KNOW YOUR STATE! Game
Okay, easy deal. How well do you know your state?
I will start off by asking a legit question about your state, as in something that represents it (state bird, state flag, state flower, governor, year founded, etc.) You may also ask a detailed question about such things (i.e. what do the colours/symbol on your flag stand for?) The first person to answer correctly asks the next question. Then the first person to post their answer correctly can ask the next question....and so on......we can go by just trusting what the person above answered with, but please answer with truth. understand? ok....... I will start by asking this: Who is your State's Governor? Last edited by :::OshnSoul:::; 04-20-2004 at 11:20 AM.. |

Nebraska = the telephone pole? Nah, why it's the Cottonwood.
What order was your state admitted to the Union? ie 1st, 2nd 10th, 38th, etc.?

I don't know for New York, but for Long Island...
At more than 400 feet above sea level, Jayne’s Hill in Melville is Long Island’s highest point. It is located in West Hills County Park, at the end of Reservoir Road. Officially named High Hill by the U.S. Government, it has been known locally as Jayne’s Hill after its owners, the Jayne family, since the 1800s. An earlier name had been Oakley’s Hill, after a previous owner. Poet Walt Whitman, who was born near its foot and who grew up in West Hills, referred to it in an 1881 letter to the "New York Tribune," speculating about it being "the highest spot on Long Island." What is your state's largest export?

Arizona's population of about 5.6 million makes the state the 18th-largest in the country, and its continued fast growth could bump Missouri out of the 17th position in a couple of years.
Arizona was one of three states (including Florida and Texas) that ranked in the top five on both population growth rates and absolute increase. Arizona was in second place in overall growth, for the 10th consecutive year, at 2.6 percent. What is your state's most popular tourist attaction?
